Keep three budgets separate
Knowledge points unlock progression in the tree. Monkey Money is the account currency some purchases require. Match cash pays for towers during a run. Spending one does not automatically replenish the others. Before committing, note which resource is actually preventing your next unlock.
Choose a near-term objective such as completing more ordinary maps, not 'buy the best knowledge.' If you mainly want to learn CHIMPS, these unlocks will not fix that mode because knowledge is disabled there. A knowledge-assisted route and a knowledge-free route are different experiments.

Compare three useful targets
These are practical targets, not a universal purchase order. Current prerequisites shown in your tree take precedence over an older screenshot. Read the information panel of every required node and add up the route before purchasing.
| Target | What it changes | When to value it |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus Monkey! — Primary | A free starting Dart Monkey within the one-free-monkey limit | When a small free opening defense helps you save for a hero or another required tower. |
| More Cash — Primary | Adds 200 starting cash under ordinary rules; mode adjustments can apply | When the opening purchase is just out of reach. Half Cash and co-op need their own budget check. |
| Mana Shield — Magic | Absorbs up to 25 lives and can recharge; unavailable in Impoppable and CHIMPS | When minor leaks interrupt otherwise stable ordinary-mode runs. It does not replace a damage-type solution. |

Plan the route before spending
Open your chosen target and follow its dependency links backward. Write each missing prerequisite and any Monkey Money charge. Then compare that total with a second route. Counting only the final node is how a seemingly cheap objective consumes your entire available budget.
For example, if the Primary path is already partly unlocked, finishing a useful opening bonus may cost fewer remaining resources than starting a distant Magic branch. On a new account, the reverse may be true for your preferred towers. This is why a list of three node names is not enough to dictate everyone's order.
Leave a buffer for the other account purchase you genuinely want, such as a hero you intend to learn. Do not buy a respec just to imitate someone else's tree unless you can explain the concrete benefit and have checked the current cost.
Test whether the benefit solves your problem
Replay the same map and mode after the unlock. Keep the hero and planned tower sequence similar. If the new starting resources let you buy the needed defense on time, the benefit is visible. If the same camo wave still passes untouched, the problem was coverage rather than a small cash shortage.
Mana Shield can make a narrow leak survivable, but it should not become your only lead or camo plan. Keep identifying why a bloon escaped. If your next goal is Impoppable, practice without relying on that shield; if it is CHIMPS, practice with knowledge disabled where possible.

Write the assumptions on any route you share
A helpful player note says 'knowledge enabled, More Cash unlocked, no powers' rather than simply 'easy beginner build.' The next reader may have fewer unlocks or a different difficulty multiplier. Include the map, mode and starting resources you actually saw.
When an update changes a prerequisite, update the route note rather than silently changing the date. The useful part of a progression recommendation is the reason for choosing it and the conditions under which it worked.
Before you play
- Mode supports the benefit being purchased.
- Full prerequisite path and all costs counted.
- Knowledge points, Monkey Money and match cash kept separate.
- Same-map comparison made after the unlock.
Frequently asked questions
Does More Cash work unchanged in Half Cash?
No. The community reference describes a reduced extra starting amount there. Check the actual start-state rather than assuming the ordinary +200 example applies.
Will Mana Shield help in Impoppable?
No. It is unavailable there, as well as in CHIMPS.
