Separate the three kinds of progress players often merge

The official product page says campaign progression can be shared online. The Update 1.2 notes specifically call out cash earned in Career Story Mode and say it now tracks as intended. Those are useful but different statements: a cash-tracking patch note is not a complete list of per-player achievements, settings, cosmetics, DLC access or cloud-save behavior.

A low-risk before/after check

Use a job you are comfortable replaying only if the game itself shows it as available; do not erase or overwrite a save to test progression. The steps below organize observations and are not a save-repair procedure.

1. Before the session, note the job name, mode (Career Story, Free Play or another mode shown in-game), platform/store and displayed build for host and client.
2. Capture each player's visible cash/progress state using your own notes; avoid sharing account IDs or private profile data.
3. Update both copies using their normal platform process, then repeat the same safe observation in Career Story Mode if the missing item is cash tracking.
4. Compare the result with the 1.2 note. If it still differs, stop before deleting saves or toggling cloud-sync conflicts and contact FuturLab with the exact mode, platform/build, host/client role and reproduction steps.

Do not overread the patch note

Update 1.2 also mentions multiplayer timelapse consistency and a client notification fix, but it does not say that every co-op timing or departure issue is solved. Later updates can change behavior. Check the current official release notes and describe the exact field that failed rather than saying only 'progress didn't save'.

1. State whether the issue is job completion, cash, an achievement, the selected job list or an account unlock.
2. Record whether you hosted or joined, and whether the session was online or local split-screen.
3. Use official support for account- or save-specific cases; Steam discussions are public player reports, not confirmed fixes.

Preserve evidence before asking for help

The public notes cannot inspect a player's account or recover a save. Keep an untouched copy of any platform-provided backup and avoid deleting local or cloud data while investigating a missing reward.

1. Write down the job, mode, displayed reward, host/client role, platform and build before another attempt.
2. Do not share account credentials, full profile identifiers or an unredacted save publicly.
