Follow the documented order, not a generic reset

The 0.6.0.4 note names a specific sequence: sleep first, then save and load. Keeping that order makes the result easier to compare with the developer's workaround. The note does not require restarting a world, rebuilding a location, changing difficulty, or clearing unrelated game data.

Confirm the installed version at the main menu before interpreting the result. Patch 0.6.0.4 released on all available platforms according to the announcement, but a player should still read the version their own installation displays and identify any mismatch when filing a report.

  1. Open the affected Grounded 2 world and record the displayed version, platform, world type, location, time, and what should have caused O.G.G.R. to spawn.
  2. Use an available bed to sleep in that world. Do not delete or overwrite a separate backup while testing.
  3. After sleeping, create an ordinary in-game save, then load that saved world as the notes specify.
  4. Return to the same relevant location or condition and observe whether O.G.G.R. spawns. Record the result; one attempt is a diagnostic, not a guarantee.
  5. If unresolved, check the current official Issue Tracker for an existing report and status, then submit a concise report with steps and evidence.

Read the outcome without overclaiming

The release note says the sequence should be able to resolve the issue and explicitly asks players to report cases it does not fix. A failed attempt therefore remains useful information. It is not evidence that a world is irreparable, nor does the note authorize deleting or recreating it.

Keep the report narrowly reproducible

The public patch note asks players to report unresolved cases so the team can continue investigating. Include the exact version/platform and whether the full order was followed, plus the same-world before/after result. If the issue depends on a save, use the developer's secure support route rather than posting private save files publicly.

Distinguish this workaround from other 0.6.0.4 fixes

The same patch note lists separate fixes for Advanced Bushcraft on some saves and the Skunk Pond Ranger Outpost hatch on older 0.4 saves. Those are different symptoms with different fixes; do not treat the O.G.G.R. sleep/save/load sequence as a universal repair for a stalled quest or inaccessible hatch. Record the exact symptom and compare it with the matching release-note entry.

Before you play

  • The issue is specifically O.G.G.R. spawning in Grounded 2.
  • Installed build and platform are recorded before testing.
  • The sequence was sleep, then save, then load.
  • An unresolved case keeps its save and is reported with a reproducible before/after description.

Frequently asked questions

Should I sleep before saving and loading?

Yes. The 0.6.0.4 note gives that order: sleep, then save and load.

What if O.G.G.R. still does not spawn?

Obsidian asks players to report unresolved cases. Check the current Issue Tracker and send the build, platform, exact steps and result.

Should I restart the world or delete the save?

That is not part of the documented workaround. Preserve the affected world and report the unresolved reproduction instead.

Official FAQ updated July 29, 2025; read November 5, 2026. Its narrow cross-save answer says PC/Xbox progress saving, but its platform list predates later platform availability. We use it only to avoid implying that cross-play setup proves cross-progression for every platform pair.

Release notes dated October 28, 2026; read November 5, 2026. The notes say O.G.G.R. spawn issues may be resolved by sleeping, then saving and loading, and ask players to report unresolved cases. They also list several save-specific fixes; this is not a guarantee for every world.

What changed in this revision

November 5, 2026: added the exact sleep-then-save-and-load workaround and unresolved-report path from Obsidian's 0.6.0.4 notes. No encounter, save or workaround was hands-on tested.
