Private, browser-local player worksheet

Build a precise Anno 1800 troubleshooting note

Record the variables that change the correct support route. Your entries stay in this page until you choose to copy the note; they are not uploaded or saved. Never enter passwords, recovery codes, payment details, or another player's personal data.

Suggested next step

Record the Ubisoft account, island and both save times; preserve local/cloud copies before choosing an upload or restore.

Freeze and identify the intended island

A sync prompt is a choice between states, not proof that one is correct. Avoid launching repeatedly or confirming the newest timestamp automatically; an offline session can leave the other copy behind.

  1. Close Anno 1800 without starting a new session or saving over the disputed island.
  2. Confirm the Ubisoft Connect account and storefront/launcher used for the affected save.
  3. Record the island/campaign name, last known play session and the exact conflict message without sharing account identifiers.
  4. If both local and cloud choices remain available, capture their displayed dates and preserve a local backup using Ubisoft's PC instructions before replacing anything.
  5. Only then decide which specific copy should be kept; if neither can be identified, stop and contact Ubisoft Support.

Back up without turning a sync choice into a loss

Ubisoft's separate backup/restore articles are general Ubisoft Connect PC procedures. They do not reconcile two versions for you. Keep the untouched copy outside the live save folder, and do not restore into the active location until you have confirmed the target.

  1. Use Ubisoft's current save-backup article for the installed launcher and close the game/client before copying files.
  2. Keep the original folder and make a second copy to a separate location; do not rename or move the only copy.
  3. If support recommends a restore, use its current steps and restore to a duplicate or known-safe state first.
  4. Relaunch only after identifying the intended save; verify the island, era and campaign before making another in-game save.

Before you play

  • I identified the right Ubisoft account and launcher.
  • I recorded both displayed save times and the island/campaign name.
  • I preserved copies before upload, delete or restore.
  • I know the ten cloud-save maximum is not ten automatic rollback points.
  • I treated Steam discussion reports as unverified and build-specific.

Frequently asked questions

Does Anno 1800 keep every save automatically in the cloud?

Ubisoft documents up to ten cloud saves and a selected upload action; do not assume every local file is already uploaded.

Should I choose the newest timestamp?

Not automatically. Confirm it is the intended island/account and preserve the other state before resolving a conflict.

Can the worksheet restore my island?

No. It only formats details you enter and cannot access Ubisoft Connect, files or cloud storage.

Sources & revision notes

Editorial revision: November 6, 2026; not a gameplay test date. The reference notes identify source limits and version differences.

  1. Ubisoft Help: Managing cloud saves in Anno 1800 (Official)

Ubisoft says Anno 1800 can store up to ten cloud saves and describes uploading from Load game > Saved Games. Cloud behavior is Ubisoft Connect PC-specific; recheck the live support entry before resolving a conflict.

  2. Ubisoft Help: Back up Ubisoft Connect PC saves (Official)

General Ubisoft Connect PC backup instructions. This is not a cloud rollback or a guarantee that every Anno 1800 save can be restored; close the game/client and preserve an untouched copy before testing.

  3. Ubisoft Help: Restore Ubisoft Connect save files on PC (Official)

General Ubisoft Connect PC restore procedure. It does not decide which Anno 1800 cloud/local copy is newer; confirm the target folder and preserve both copies before replacement.

  4. Anno 1800 player discussions (Community)

External player-created Steam topics, including reports about sync conflicts. They can describe older builds or different launchers and are not Ubisoft-confirmed recovery instructions.
