Classify the complaint before spending
The developer explains that students have individual wants, courses shape which student types apply, and health, clubs, events, relationships and pastoral care can affect campus life. This is a decision framework, not a promise that every map unlocks every room immediately.
| What you observe | Inspect next | Don't jump straight to |
|---|---|---|
| Low grades or study complaints | Student/course panel, teaching room availability and study access | Adding entertainment rooms without checking teaching bottlenecks |
| Basic need or cleanliness complaint | Relevant nearby facilities and whether the student can reach/use them | Assuming a building exists means the route is usable |
| Boredom or social issue | Student thoughts, clubs, event access and relationship context | Scheduling every event at once or treating an old forum build as a formula |
| Injury or pastoral issue | Student condition and the current campus support options | Treating a pastoral problem as the same as a medical one |
Make one targeted change and verify
The official guide recommends checking individual students and describes clubs/events, relationships, health and pastoral care as distinct systems. Use the in-game notification/panel to pick the next action and give it time to affect the target students.
- Open Campus Overview and select two or three affected students; note their exact status/thoughts and course.
- Check whether the issue is academic, basic need, boredom/social, health or pastoral.
- Build or staff only the matching facility if available, or schedule one relevant event/club action if the UI identifies it.
- After normal in-game time passes, recheck the same students and objective instead of trusting a campus-wide average alone.
- If needs are met but the objective does not move, record the objective text, affected student panel and scenario/build before asking the community.

Use course identity as a planning signal, not a rigid template
Two Point Studios notes that course selection changes the kinds of students applying and that some student identities interact with campus life. That supports planning around the students you actually admit; it does not support importing exact bed/class ratios from a single player post as a universal rule.
- Check next year's course and intake settings in the live management UI.
- Identify course-linked room needs and the current space/staff limits shown by the game.
- Use student needs and objective progress to decide whether to expand now or wait for the next academic break.
- Treat community layout examples as starting points; compare the platform, course list, DLC and campus stage before copying them.

Frequently asked questions
Should I build every support room as soon as possible?
Use the live student/campus status and unlocks; the developer's overview describes different problem types rather than a mandatory room checklist for every map.
Can a club or event replace healthcare?
No. The developer describes clubs/events and medical/pastoral support as different needs; match the response to the displayed issue.
Are exact class-size tips in Reddit current rules?
No. Treat them as player observations tied to a build/campus, and prefer the current in-game capacity panel.

- Two Point Studios: How to be nice to your students (Official)
Developer-authored overview explains individual student needs, courses shaping applicant types, clubs/events, relationships, health and pastoral support. It is an introductory article from 2022, not a current numerical balance or guarantee that one room solves every student's issue.
- Two Point Campus: Update 10.0 release notes (Official)
Developer-published release notes identify build 10.0.137397 and describe the character-limit toggle. This is a dated feature note, not a current course-capacity manual; confirm build and menu in the installed edition.
- Two Point Campus Steam Discussions (Community)
External player posts may refer to a particular campus, DLC, platform or patch and are not verified mechanics. Ask with campus/scenario, course, student status and the relevant panel; do not present an anecdote as a universal capacity rule.
