Check the play mode before changing network settings
The basic rules differ between same-console local play and online play. Confirm which route your group selected before diagnosing a failed revive.
- For same-system local play, confirm the group is on one Nintendo Switch and the course supports the chosen players; Nintendo's official presentation describes up to four local players.
- Choose one badge for the group before entering. Nintendo's presentation notes the local group shares the same badge, so a single-player badge preference affects everyone.
- If a player becomes a ghost online, follow Nintendo's support note: reach or bump a live shadow/standee before its countdown ends to revive. Nintendo's General Tips also describes revives among friends during multiplayer.
- For online play, confirm online mode and check whether a live player shadow or standee is actually present near the course; their presence is not guaranteed in a particular spot.
- If a player repeatedly falls or takes damage, decide whether the selected character/badge suits the course. Keep Switch 2 Edition Co-Star Luma features out of the base-game troubleshooting path.
- If help still fails, record local/online mode, player count, course, badge and the exact revive indicator before changing router/account settings.
| Session type | Documented help path | Common mismatch |
|---|---|---|
| Same-console local | Up to four local players share one badge | Players expecting independent badges |
| Online | Reach or bump a live player shadow/standee before the countdown ends | No available helper in the immediate area |
| Switch 2 Edition + Meetup | Additional Co-Star Luma option | Assuming it is present in base Switch Wonder |
| Revive did not trigger | Record timer, mode and nearby-player state | Calling every missed revive a network outage |

Draft a helpful co-op question
The external Reddit community is player-generated, not official support. A precise post helps other groups distinguish gameplay rules from a connection issue.
- State platform/edition, local or online mode, player count and course.
- Name the badge the group shared and describe the ghost/revive indicator.
- Report whether a nearby player, online shadow or standee was present.
- Do not include Nintendo Account credentials, friend codes or private messages.

Before you play
- I recorded the displayed platform, mode and game build.
- I separated an on-screen observation from my theory about its cause.
- I checked the linked official source for the mechanic or setting.
- I removed account details and private save data from anything I plan to share.
Frequently asked questions
Can local players each equip a different badge?
Nintendo's official feature presentation says each local multiplayer group uses the same badge; agree on one before starting the course.
Can online players revive me?
Nintendo says reach or bump a live player shadow/standee before its timer ends; this depends on a helper being present.
Does this page connect to Nintendo online?
No. It only helps prepare a report; it does not access or troubleshoot your account/network directly.
