Choose a retry plan from the obstacle, not habit
A course can test a move, a hazard or a badge ability; changing only one factor makes a retry easier to interpret. Nintendo's support tips point players to the in-game control/action guide and badge mix.
- Press + and open Control Guide; the Action Guide shows available actions, with some hidden until encountered in-game.
- Identify the blocker: a long gap, underwater movement, vertical wall or damage-heavy section. Match one badge ability to it instead of changing several at once.
- On an open area of the world map, use the course difficulty rating and try another accessible course in a different order while you build comfort or collect resources.
- If the goal is a lower-damage learning attempt, Nintendo says Yoshi and Nabbit do not take damage in the base game; confirm the character selection in the course menu.
- If you have Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, check its Assist Mode from the title screen/main menu; Nintendo says it can recover from pits and prevent damage regardless of character. Do not assume this setting exists in the base Switch edition.
- After one controlled retry, note which action, badge and obstacle changed; this is more useful than labeling the stage impossible.
| Obstacle or goal | First thing to try | Edition/mode limit |
|---|---|---|
| Move is unclear | Control Guide → Action Guide | Some actions remain hidden until encountered |
| Gap or vertical route | Try a movement badge listed in your menu | Badge availability depends on progress |
| Frequent damage | Try Yoshi/Nabbit or a suitable badge | Character damage immunity is Nintendo-documented for base game |
| Pit recovery / no damage | Check Assist Mode | Nintendo identifies this for Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park |

Log a course-specific question
This local worksheet lets you describe the attempt clearly; it does not read your save, course flags or online account.
- Record the course name, selected character and badge shown on the pause/menu screen.
- Describe the obstacle and the last checkpoint or section reached.
- State whether you're on base Switch Wonder or Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park.
- If posting externally, omit account details and do not pass off a player reply as Nintendo support.
