Preflight the two saves

The destination may already contain progress. EA's warning means the import is not a merge. Confirm which save is the source and which will be replaced before opening the import flow.

  1. On PS4, confirm the expected Jedi: Survivor save loads and record its chapter/playtime.
  2. On PS5, inspect the existing save and decide whether it must be preserved.
  3. Confirm eligible ownership: EA lists the Cross-Gen Bundle or ownership of both console versions.
  4. Use PlayStation's official system/cloud backup route for any PS5 data you do not want to lose.
  5. Only after these checks, launch the PS5 game and select Import PS4 System Save Data.

After the import

A successful menu confirmation is not enough to establish the intended progress was carried. Verify in-game chapter/playtime and settings before continuing the campaign. If the import is absent or wrong, avoid creating new saves that could obscure which data remains and contact EA/PlayStation support.

  1. After import, load the game and verify chapter, playtime and known settings against the PS4 source.
  2. Do not start a new game or save over a slot until you confirm the imported run is correct.
  3. If it is missing, write down the exact transfer direction, ownership edition and message shown.
  4. Use official support rather than third-party save tools or public account-sharing advice.

EA's console transfer guide, checked November 6, 2026. PS4-to-PS5 import is one-way and may overwrite PS5 data; Xbox cloud saves work between Xbox One and Series X|S; PlayStation and Xbox data cannot cross-transfer. This guide is not a PC-save migration guide.
