Separate world population from crew size
The shared ocean's published population and a co-op group limit answer different questions. Ubisoft's free-trial page says you can form groups with up to two other friends for shareable contracts and rewards across platforms. The official game page describes a larger shared world. This guide uses the explicit co-op number rather than treating every player in the world as a crew member.
| Question | Publisher statement | Practical check |
|---|---|---|
| Can different listed platforms play together? | Cross-play is advertised for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S | Compare the exact current platform pair and account invite path |
| How many in one co-op crew? | Host plus up to two friends | Keep the planned group at three or fewer |
| Why does the world list more players? | The shared world is described separately, up to 20 players | Do not use world capacity as the party cap |

Invite in a controlled order
- Write down each player's platform and storefront (PC, PS5 or Xbox Series X|S) and confirm everyone is on the same game session/version.
- Pick one host and form a group with no more than two invited friends; add players one at a time so the first failed invite is identifiable.
- If an invite is missing, confirm each player is signed into the intended Ubisoft account and that the game currently displays cross-play enabled.
- Check the publisher's service/support page and current notices before changing router, privacy or account settings.
- If the pair and group size match but the invite still fails, capture exact platform, time and prompt for support; redact account IDs in external discussions.

What the checker does not establish
A supported platform pair does not guarantee an available session, an unrestricted account, a working invite or shareable eligibility for every activity. Ubisoft's game rules can be updated; verify the live pages and in-game mode requirements.

Before you play
- Every player is on a platform currently listed by Ubisoft.
- The crew is at most three people total.
- I distinguished crew size from shared-world population.
- I checked current service notices before changing network settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can a four-person group join the same crew?
The cited Ubisoft co-op offer describes the host and up to two friends. A four-player crew is outside that stated limit.
Does the 20-player world mean my crew can have 20?
No. Ubisoft describes shared-world population separately from its co-op group size.

- Ubisoft: Skull and Bones (Official)
Ubisoft's current game page lists cross-play and cross-progression and describes a shared world of up to 20 players. The free-trial page is more specific about a three-player co-op group; do not treat the world population as a party size.
- Ubisoft: Skull and Bones Free Trial (Official)
Ubisoft currently describes a six-hour trial on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and says trial unlocks and purchases carry into the full game. Availability, regional storefronts and account conditions can change; confirm the live offer before starting.
