Check that the line can be built and powered
The community Miner reference lists a Mk.1 Miner at 60 Copper Ore/min on a normal node at 100% clock. A default Copper Smelter consumes 30 Ore/min and produces 30 Ingots/min. One Wire Constructor consumes 15 Ingots/min and produces 30 Wire/min; one Cable Constructor consumes 60 Wire/min to produce 30 Cable/min. Check each installed recipe instead of assuming an alternate has the same rates.
The Miner Mk.1 and Mk.1 belts have their own HUB unlocks, and Constructor access also needs the relevant milestone. The proposed topology also needs Logistics splitters and a merger: check their unlock and construction materials. Count already-built machines, foundations, power connections and material stock separately: the output-rate calculation is not a complete building-material bill. At the cited 2 Reinforced Iron Plates and 8 Cable per Constructor, four newly built Constructors require 8 Plates and 32 Cable, excluding all other structures; do not assume the new line's output is already available.
- Inspect the Copper node purity and the installed Miner and belt mark.
- Check the actual recipes, 100% clock and nominal rates on each Smelter and Constructor.
- Confirm available generation and connect the Miner, two Smelters and four Constructors before counting output.
- Connect outputs into separate Cable and Wire branches; inspect belt direction and whether the containers have space.
- After buffers settle, collect each finished product separately and compare a timed sample with the nominal plan; record the observation rather than treating it as already tested.

One explicit split for two independent outputs
In this hypothetical layout, use a splitter to divide the normal-node miner's ore between two Smelters. Use a second splitter to route the first Smelter's 30 Ingots/min to two Wire Constructors, 15 Ingots/min each. Use a merger to combine those two 30-Wire/min outputs onto the Cable Constructor's input: it needs all 60 Wire/min and has a nominal output of 30 Cable/min. Keep this branch separate from the Wire you intend to collect.
Route the second Smelter's ingots to a third Wire Constructor; its 15-Ingot/min demand makes the separate 30-Wire/min output. The second Smelter's nominal 30-Ingot/min capacity exceeds that branch's demand by 15/min. If nothing else consumes or stores the excess, the ingot buffer fills and that Smelter eventually idles; the upstream miner may also back up. This idle state is expected under the assumptions and does not by itself mean the 30/30 outputs are broken.
| Stage | Nominal supply | Nominal demand | Separate result |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Smelter → two Wire Constructors | 30 Copper Ingots/min | 2 × 15 Ingots/min | 60 Wire/min for Cable only |
| One Cable Constructor | 60 Wire/min | 60 Wire/min | 30 Cable/min |
| Second Smelter → third Wire Constructor | Up to 30 Ingots/min | 15 Ingots/min | 30 Wire/min plus up to 15 unused Ingots/min |
| Whole plan | Up to 60 Ore → 60 Ingots/min | 45 Ingots/min for three Wire machines | 30 Wire/min and 30 Cable/min if both outputs clear |

Do not squeeze all intermediate Wire onto one Mk.1 belt
An Mk.1 belt carries at most 60 items/min. The two-Cable-feed branch has exactly 60 Wire/min at its nominal target; it has no capacity left for the separate 30-Wire/min output. Merging all three Wire outputs before splitting would demand 90 Wire/min on that belt and cap the line. Keep the third machine's output on its own belt, or re-evaluate transport capacity and routing.
A splitter is not a promise that each branch always gets its intended quota. Its community reference describes redistribution when a branch backs up; check destination buffers and observe the actual flow. For the explicit layout, connect the first pair to Cable and the third machine directly to Wire collection instead of relying on a single splitter to divide a shared 90/min stream.
| Observed symptom | First boundary | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Cable Constructor input empty | Two Wire machines and their merged input | Inspect each recipe, ingot feed, belt connection and 60/min branch |
| Wire container empty but Cable runs | Separate collection branch | Trace the third Wire Constructor and ensure output storage is not blocked |
| One Smelter or miner idles | Ingot demand versus surplus | Check whether the expected excess has backed up; inspect product totals before rebuilding |
| Both outputs are slow | Power, ore supply or shared transport | Check the first starved or blocked stage and shared belt mark |
| Cable branch works at first, then stalls | Output container and downstream blockage | Clear or consume Cable and verify that production resumes |

Power and demand are separate budgets
At their cited nominal active consumption, the proposed one Miner Mk.1 (5 MW), two Smelters (2 × 4 MW) and four Constructors (4 × 4 MW) total 29 MW. This is a named-load ceiling while all these machines are active, not a measured average: backing up can make machines idle. Other factory consumers, generators, fuel and network connections are excluded, so compare against the power graph before attaching the line.
If the desired output instead doubles to 60 Wire/min and 60 Cable/min using the same default recipes, the Cable needs 120 Wire/min and collection needs another 60: 180 Wire/min in total. That is six Wire Constructors consuming 90 Ingots/min, plus two Cable Constructors. A single normal Mk.1 node's 60 Ore/min cannot supply 90 Ingots/min under the assumed one-to-one Smelter recipe. Additional source capacity and belts would be required; simply adding Constructors cannot create the missing copper.

Count a fair sample, not the startup phase
Once inputs have reached the machines and output paths have space, a hypothetical two-minute steady interval at exactly the stated nominal rates would yield 60 Wire and 60 Cable. This excludes the time to start the Miner, fill belts and buffers, and any full storage. It is a comparison target, not a claim that the first two minutes after switching on will produce those amounts.
Use separate containers for Wire and Cable, note their initial counts, then record the duration and added items. If the result is low, compare machine status and the first missing or blocked stage before increasing production. A short sample can be affected by cycle timing or buffered items; repeat with the same start conditions.

Before you play
- Check node purity, recipe, clocks and belt marks.
- Reserve 60 Wire/min for Cable and keep the 30-Wire output separate.
- Expect surplus ingots to back up when no other branch consumes them.
- Compare the named 29 MW active load with the rest of the grid.
- Measure collected output after startup and note the real sample conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Why does one Wire Constructor not keep one Cable Constructor busy?
The cited default rates are 30 Wire/min produced versus 60 Wire/min consumed. One makes only half the Cable machine's nominal input; two at 100% can supply it if connected and unobstructed.
Does a stopped second Smelter prove the plan has failed?
Not necessarily. Its branch needs only 15 Ingots/min against 30/min nominal capacity. If excess backs up, the Smelter may idle while the final Wire and Cable targets remain met.
Can a single Mk.1 belt move all 90 Wire/min?
No. Its listed limit is 60 items/min. Keep the Cable feed and separate Wire output on different paths, or redesign the transport.
Is the two-minute result from a game test?
No. Sixty of each is theoretical arithmetic for a steady two-minute interval after buffers settle, assuming power, material and clear outputs. GamerWin did not run the factory.
