Build a naming convention before the farm expands
The developer notes add names to selected buildings in the UI. The useful application is consistent player-created labels. Since the announcement does not say that names alter building behavior, verify actual capacity and access in the building panels instead of relying on a label.
- Choose a short prefix for each function, such as Feed, Seed, Ore or Breeding; avoid putting private information in names.
- Rename one storage building at a time and record what you intend to store there.
- Check the actual building inventory and displayed capacity after renaming; a label does not filter deposits or move existing items.
- Use animal names only to describe the pen's purpose, then check the animal panel for actual occupancy and breeding state.
- If a co-op partner uses different labels, agree on the words and language before splitting chores.
- When an update changes building UI, confirm the rename option is still present in your platform build.
| Building type named by update | Useful label example | Still verify in game |
|---|---|---|
| Animal shed | Goats / winter feed | Occupants and feed state |
| Storage shed | Seeds / tools | Actual inventory and capacity |
| Breeding pen | Next generation | Pairing and current animal status |
| Granary | Processed food | Stored contents and access |

- Enter the building type and your preferred label.
- Add one intended use and a co-op note if needed.
- Visit each named building and compare the note against its actual inventory.

Before you play
- I used labels as reminders, not automatic storage filters.
- I verified contents, capacity, occupants and breeding state in the actual panels.
- My co-op partner understands the same naming convention.

Developer announcements checked November 7, 2026. Version 1.3.1 notes add all cooking-collection dish placeholders from the beginning and allow naming selected farm buildings in the UI. This is not a recipe database or evidence that a placeholder recipe is craftable yet. No village was tested.
