Separate collection visibility from recipe access
The 1.3.1 update changes what the collection can show, not necessarily when each dish becomes available. A placeholder can reveal that a dish exists while its acquisition remains tied to later progress or a specific source.
- Record the exact dish name and whether the entry is an outline/placeholder or a fully revealed recipe in your installed UI.
- Check the collection description and recipe source named by the game, if any. The patch notes explicitly include recipes obtained in mid/late game among the visible placeholders.
- Check the relevant cooking station and any current idea, quest, or community unlock prompt; do not assume every station can make every dish.
- If a guide claims the slot is a bug, compare its publication date with v1.3.1 and confirm your platform has that update.
- When asking for help, share the platform/build, dish name and exact collection state—not a screenshot containing account identifiers.
- Only mark the dish as learned after the game shows the recipe as available; the placeholder alone is not unlock proof.
| Collection display | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Visible placeholder | The collection lists a dish entry | That the recipe is learned or craftable now |
| Recipe fully revealed | The UI exposes recipe information | That every station can craft it |
| Entry absent on another platform | Possible version/UI difference | That the save lost content |
| Old guide says slot hidden | May predate 1.3.1 | Current behavior on your build |

Keep your own unlock ledger
The local note below records only the dish name and the state you enter. It is not a complete recipe list or unlock database.
- Enter the dish name and the build shown by the game.
- Mark the collection state you see and the station you checked.
- Update only after the game itself changes the entry.

Before you play
- I treated the placeholder as a collection entry, not an unlocked recipe.
- I compared the guide date with my installed v1.3.1-or-later build.
- I checked the named station or in-game acquisition prompt.
Frequently asked questions
Are all cooking recipes unlocked at the start in 1.3.1?
No. The notes say all dish placeholders are visible from the beginning, including recipes acquired later; visibility is not the same as access.
Can a missing recipe on console be diagnosed from Steam notes?
Not conclusively. Verify the console build and current UI; Steam announcement timing may differ.
Does this ledger know the recipe list?
No. It stores only your entries and contains no complete recipe database.

- Soda Den: Roots of Pacha official Steam announcements (Official)
Developer announcements checked November 7, 2026. Version 1.3.1 notes add all cooking-collection dish placeholders from the beginning and allow naming selected farm buildings in the UI. This is not a recipe database or evidence that a placeholder recipe is craftable yet. No village was tested.
