Separate the free ability/update from the paid destination
Nintendo's update history describes Dive and underwater building as free software-update content. The Nintendo Store and DLC support page separately identify Bubbly Basin as paid Expansion Pass Part 1. An updated base game and a purchased add-on are different gates; do not buy the add-on again just because a route prompt is missing.
| What you expect to access | Requirement category | Official check |
|---|---|---|
| Underwater/Dive feature in the base game | Free game software update and in-game progression | Install the current game update; Nintendo's history lists 2.0.0 as the update that added Dive |
| Bubbly Basin area | Paid Expansion Pass Part 1 plus game/update and in-game access conditions | Check DLC availability for the active user/system and complete the documented route gates |
| A purchase bonus or individual DLC item | Account/item receipt and Nintendo's separate entitlement instructions | Use Nintendo Support's DLC troubleshooting; this page cannot inspect ownership |

Check the Bleak Beach and move prerequisites
Nintendo's published preparation tips name the 'Raise the environment level!' request in Bleak Beach, specify level 5 or higher, and list the ability to jump plus the Surf move for the Dive route. Check the request and region's displayed level in the game instead of estimating from decorations or copying another town's checklist.
- Confirm that the game has the current software update and record the title-screen version. Nintendo's support history is live and can change; its dated 2.0.0 entry is the source for the original Dive addition, not a promise that it is still newest.
- Open Requests and confirm 'Raise the environment level!' in Bleak Beach is complete; verify the area's level is at least 5.
- Check that the Jump ability and Surf move are available on your save.
- For Bubbly Basin, separately confirm that the Expansion Pass Part 1 is available to the user/system playing the game.
- Return to the current in-game prompt and follow its next step. If all documented gates are met but it remains unavailable, record the exact message and version before reinstalling anything.

If the expansion area is still unavailable
Nintendo's DLC support distinguishes a missing add-on from unmet in-game conditions. Check the purchasing account, console/system, add-on download and game update using Nintendo's live instructions. The checker cannot see any of those facts. Do not delete save data, share account credentials, or purchase the pass again until the entitlement page confirms what is missing.
- From the HOME Menu, select the user profile that owns or can access the Expansion Pass, then confirm the base game launches on this system.
- Use Nintendo's DLC availability/troubleshooting instructions to confirm Part 1 appears for this account and console; do not infer access from another household profile.
- Verify the game update and title-screen version, then return to the Bleak Beach request and Dive requirements.
- If the purchase is present but the DLC still does not appear, use Nintendo Support and provide the console family, software version and exact menu state—never passwords, PINs or full payment details.

Version, platform and source boundary
This guide applies only to Pokémon Pokopia on Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo's update-history snapshot lists version 2.0.0 dated August 4, 2026; verify the current live update history and installed version before troubleshooting. Expansion Pass parts may have separate release and entitlement states; the guide intentionally covers Part 1's Bubbly Basin only and does not infer the status of later parts from an older page.
