Use the planner before creating a room

Choose the mode and connection type you intend to use, then check only the prerequisites relevant to that path. Nintendo's official support page lists a two-player Link Trade and up to four participants for battles. Ranked Battle is online; Private Battle can be local or online. Use Nintendo's live page if a mode name or limit has changed.

  1. Select the exact activity and enter the intended participant count, including yourself.
  2. Confirm Link Play is visible after unlocking Rewards in Mable's Research.
  3. For online sessions, verify internet and the required active Nintendo Switch Online membership.
  4. For local wireless, compare each system's software update version.
  5. If all selections pass, follow the current in-game Link Play flow. If they do not, use the linked setup guide to locate the missing gate.

Read the mode table before choosing local or online

This table summarizes only the documented options in Nintendo Support. It does not guarantee that a lobby or service is available at the moment you play.

If the result says a requirement is missing

Treat a failed result as a list of facts to re-check, not a diagnosis. A menu that is still locked points to Mable's Research progression; an online-only failure points to internet or membership; a local mismatch points to comparing each console's displayed software version. Avoid changing several variables at once.

  1. Write down the selected mode and whether you intend local or online play.
  2. Re-check the X-menu unlock, online membership/internet, or local version pair that applies.
  3. Change one confirmed prerequisite at a time and retry through the game's own menu.
  4. If the documented gates are satisfied but the menu or service still fails, consult Nintendo Support with platform, displayed software version and the exact message—never include account credentials or trade codes.

What this utility does not do

The planner evaluates only the form values in this tab. It cannot see whether a membership is active, validate a version number, send invites, reserve a match, generate or transmit a trade code, confirm cross-edition pairing, or connect to Nintendo services. No inputs are stored by GamerWin.

Before you play

  • The activity and participant count match Nintendo's current mode description.
  • Progression is unlocked and the relevant online/local requirements were independently verified.
  • If a mismatch remains, record mode, platform and version and use the official support route.

Frequently asked questions

Does a ready result guarantee that matchmaking works?

No. It only means the entries satisfy this checklist's limited conditions; server availability, account state, compatibility and the live game may still affect play.

Does the tool generate a trade code?

No. It never creates, stores or sends codes. Share any in-game code privately with the intended player.
