Do not treat every remote battle as the same entry
The official article distinguishes standard remote Raid Battles from Max Battles. It describes Remote Raid Pass use, a temporary cap of three passes in the bag for acquiring more, a currently stated daily remote raid limit that may rise for special events, and separate Max Particle requirements for remote Max Battles. These values are policy snapshots, not guaranteed permanent caps.
| Battle type | Entry check | Before confirming |
|---|---|---|
| Regular Raid remotely | Remote Raid Pass and a listed/invited raid | Check current event cap and lobby availability |
| Max Battle remotely | Remote Raid Pass plus the Max Particle cost shown for that battle | Confirm the cost and understand when the pass is consumed |
| In-person raid / Max Battle | Use the live local interaction and displayed requirements | Do not apply remote-only assumptions or bonuses |

Use the pass-consumption boundary
For remote Max Battles, the help article says the pass is consumed when the battle starts, win or lose. If you lose but remain at the same Power Spot, you can retry the same boss without another pass; leaving or the boss rotating can end that retry path. Entering a lobby and leaving before battle begins should not consume the pass, although the article also notes a visual issue. The live inventory and current official notice remain decisive.
- Open the invitation or battle and read the mode label before entering.
- For a Max Battle, inspect the displayed Max Particle requirement and your available amount in the game.
- Confirm the pass indicator and party/lobby before starting; do not rely on a third-party calculator for inventory.
- If testing the lobby, leave before the battle begins; do not assume the same rule applies after start.
- After a loss, remain at the same location/lobby only if you intend to retry and the game still offers that option; otherwise assume the pass may already be spent.

Use player discussions for coordination, not account recovery
A player forum can help find a group or compare a current event notice. It cannot confirm your bag inventory or guarantee an invite lobby is open. Share only the boss, approximate start time and needed party coordination; remove your trainer credentials, precise location and account identifiers.

Event overrides and retry decisions
The support article explicitly warns that Remote Raid participation caps and remote attack-power adjustments may be changed for special periods. Max Particle costs vary by battle, and reward treatment differs from in-person play. An old guide or community post is not the live rule: inspect the current event announcement and the lobby's entry button before committing.
- Read the current event announcement for any changed remote limit or bonus.
- Use the Max Battle's own particle prompt rather than a remembered fixed cost.
- If a Max Battle starts and you lose, staying at the same Power Spot may preserve the same-boss retry path; leaving or rotation can remove it.
- If the UI appears to consume a pass before battle begins, verify the inventory and support note before making another purchase.

Before you play
- I identified regular Raid versus Max Battle before entering.
- I read the actual pass and particle requirements in the lobby.
- I checked current event notices because caps may change.
- I understand the battle-start point after which a pass can be consumed.
- I did not share precise location or account credentials in a public group.
Frequently asked questions
How many remote raids can I do each day?
The current support article states a limit, but explicitly says it may change or increase for events. Check the live event notice rather than treating a static number as permanent.
Can a Remote Raid Pass be used for a Max Battle?
The support article says remote Max Battles require a Remote Raid Pass and the locally required Max Particles; the particle amount varies by battle.
Is a pass consumed if I leave the lobby before the Max Battle starts?
The current help article says no, but check the live UI and help article because the article notes a visual issue and rules can change.
