PoE 2 account & platform preflight

Sort character visibility from purchase availability before changing an account link. This tool cannot connect to GGG, Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation.

Check the character’s original GGG sub-account at character select. GGG says merged sub-accounts keep separate character lists; characters cannot be moved between them.

Do not unlink/relink as a test. Never enter passwords, recovery codes, account email, receipts, or payment details here or in public discussions. Contact GGG Support for mistaken links.

Separate platform from sub-account

GGG's account-system announcement says Path of Exile 2 characters are playable across platforms. In the same announcement it explains that when accounts are merged, both sub-accounts remain and their characters stay listed separately; the active sub-account can be selected at the top of character select. A character missing from the current list is therefore not, by itself, proof that cross-platform play failed.

  1. Record the platform/storefront where the character was last visible and the exact GGG account used there.
  2. At the character-selection screen, inspect the account selection control and switch only among sub-accounts already associated with your own account.
  3. Compare character names on the original platform/sub-account before changing any account links.
  4. If the character is present under another sub-account, do not expect a character-transfer button: GGG says characters cannot be moved between sub-accounts.

Prepare a useful support case without exposing the account

When official troubleshooting does not resolve the mismatch, include the platform where the character last appeared, the selected sub-account label, whether accounts were merged, the approximate last-seen time and the exact non-sensitive error. GGG Support is the route for account-link mistakes; a public forum is not an account recovery channel.

  1. Remove email addresses, account IDs, character-specific private details and all credentials from screenshots or posts.
  2. Do not create a new merge, unlink, or character transfer attempt to reproduce the issue.
  3. Use the support form while signed in to the account owner; if unsure which account is yours, use GGG's account recovery path rather than sharing access.

Account safety and limits

This page is an interpretation of GGG's published account-system note, not a live login check. It cannot read your account, confirm a successful merge, locate a character, or reverse a link. GGG Support is the authoritative channel for a mistaken merge; public player threads may describe a different platform or account state.

Before you play

  • I recorded the platform and storefront where the character was last visible.
  • I checked the currently selected GGG sub-account at character select.
  • I did not assume a merge combines character lists or permits character transfer.
  • I removed credentials and account identifiers from any public report.
