Inventory both sides before account linking
- On each platform/account, record whether a game character exists and when that record was created; do not post account IDs publicly.
- Confirm which account contains the character you intend to keep and whether the other side is truly empty.
- Use NetEase's official linking page or the in-game Settings > Account > Link Account route; do not start through an unofficial login page.
- If both accounts have characters, stop and read the current on-screen warning; do not assume accounts or characters merge.
- Use another empty eligible account only if NetEase's live instructions explicitly support it; verify region/platform compatibility before committing.

What the official warning means
| Before link | Official FAQ boundary | Safer next step |
|---|---|---|
| Only one side has a character | FAQ says the original account can be linked for continued play | Confirm same account and supported region |
| Both sides have characters | Only one side's records are kept; the other's may be discarded | Do not confirm until retention choice is understood |
| One record is older than 30 days | FAQ describes a protective linking restriction for older records | Use an empty account only if current official flow directs it |
| One PSN/Xbox account already linked | FAQ says one console account links to one game account | Do not unlink/relink as an experiment |
| Console test character | Test character progress does not carry over as ordinary live progress | Check the specific event claim/announcement |

After link: confirm the intended profile
The FAQ documents cross-platform play and account continuity, but a successful link message is not proof that the intended character is selected. Keep the source account details private and do not send credentials to a discussion group.
- After the link completes, launch the target client and verify the expected character, scenario and region.
- If the character differs, stop before creating or deleting another record and capture the non-sensitive message shown.
- Check the latest official regional announcement for account-link exceptions before requesting unlinking.
- Use the official support form for account state; community posts are anecdotal and cannot reverse a lost character.
