Separate goods in storage from goods available at the market

A warehouse or granary having stock does not, by itself, prove the market can distribute it. The developer's marketplace UI update described granary/storehouse supply capacity, assigned worker families, free stall locations and connection arcs. The publisher-hosted wiki describes granary workers staffing food stalls and storehouse workers staffing general-goods stalls. Inspect the live panel to see which link in that chain is short.

Run a no-demolition diagnostic

The goal is to identify the first missing link, not to maximize market footprint. Changing one part at a time helps distinguish an inventory issue from a stall-capacity issue or a distribution shortfall.

  1. Select the affected burgage plot and note the exact unmet requirement and item.
  2. Open the regional market supply panel. Check that item’s current availability, required amount, free stall locations and the displayed granary/storehouse capacity where present.
  3. Check regional stock and the building that holds it. Confirm the correct storage building type, an assigned family, a non-blocking filter and an actual item quantity.
  4. Inspect the marketplace connection arcs and assigned stalls. Food and general goods use different storage-worker paths in the documented system; compare the live labels on your build.
  5. If the panel shows supply but only distant plots lack it, test the affected plot against the wiki's nearby-first distribution note before adding stock or market space.
  6. After one change, wait for the panel to refresh and compare the same item and plot. If it still fails, record the build, item, region, panel values and recent market move before asking the community.

What not to infer from older guides

The official wiki's Marketplace page warns that Early Access information may be incomplete and includes a historical per-stall storage figure. This diagnostic deliberately does not depend on that number. The safer source for your settlement is the current in-game panel, especially after the 0.8.117 fixes related to stall transfers and relocation.

Find a discussion that matches your state

Use Gameplay Discussions for a supply symptom and Beta Game Bugs and Crashes only if the failure is reproducible on the relevant branch. Include item, region, exact displayed panel values, branch/build and whether a stall was recently moved. A post from a different build is a comparison lead, not a guaranteed fix.

Before you play

  • I named the exact burgage requirement and item that is missing.
  • I checked regional stock separately from market supply capacity.
  • I checked granary/storehouse workers, filters, stalls and connection arcs.
  • I compared the affected plot with current regional availability before adding another market.
  • I verified the branch/build and did not treat an old stall-capacity figure as current proof.

Frequently asked questions

Should I build another marketplace whenever one home is unsupplied?

Not before checking the regional supply panel, stock, workers and available stalls. The wiki's older Early Access information notes that nearby plots may be served first when supply is insufficient, so diagnose capacity and distance before rebuilding.

Do stalls draw directly from any building that has the good?

The documented system separates food stalls staffed through granary workers from general-goods stalls staffed through storehouse workers. Verify the current connection and panel because Early Access details can change.

Is the old per-stall storage number guaranteed in 0.8.117?

No. The wiki page warns that its Early Access information may be incomplete, and the guide does not rely on that historical figure. Use the current in-game panel.

Where can I ask other players?

The official Steam discussion board has Gameplay Discussions and Beta Game Bugs and Crashes. Label your post with the branch/build and exact item/panel state.
