Separate a hidden label from a missing drop
A loot filter changes item visibility; it does not establish whether an item dropped. Eleventh Hour Games documents up to 75 rules, an editable order, in-UI import/export and a temporary disable key. Use these as filter diagnostics, not proof of loot generation.
| Observation | Next check | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| Label appears while filter is held off | Review enabled rules and their order | That every rule is correct |
| Label remains absent with filter off | Record area, enemy/reward and item expectation; compare current drop rules | That the item was guaranteed to drop |
| Imported filter behaves differently | Check filter source/version and rule order; keep the previous export | That the file is corrupt |

Make one reversible filter change
The official guide says rules higher in the list take priority. A broad show/hide rule can therefore mask a narrower rule below it. Change one rule at a time so a different result remains interpretable.
- Record cycle, character, area, item base/type, rarity and the filter name or source.
- Export the current filter or make a separate copy before editing.
- Temporarily disable filtering with the current keybind and check whether the item label is visible.
- Inspect enabled rules from top to bottom; compare each rule's conditions with the exact item's category and affixes.
- Move or disable only the suspected rule, then test against a later comparable drop; restore the original copy if the result is unclear.
- If the filter UI reports a broken filter, follow the current official repair article rather than downloading an unknown replacement.

Frequently asked questions
Does a hidden label mean the item did not drop?
Not necessarily. Temporarily disable the filter first; the support article explains that filters alter what is displayed.
Can I put a generic hide rule above a specific show rule?
That may hide items because higher rules take priority. Check the current official rule-order behavior and test a copy.
Does this worksheet inspect my filter file?
No. It stores only notes you enter in this browser and does not read Last Epoch files.
