Make a clean before/after comparison
An in-game business can show cash and reputation effects that are not interchangeable. Use the ledger's displayed rows and dates, and do not import a price formula from another shop, area or patch.
- Record the game build, year/season, area and business type before changing the shop.
- Open the relevant ledger and note the date range currently shown; the PC patch history includes a fix for preserving the last 14 days across season/year boundaries, but older builds may behave differently.
- Write down money and reputation changes separately for the same visible period.
- If testing a price, stock or specialization adjustment, change only one variable and compare the next equivalent period shown by your ledger.
- Check whether the period includes a trend event or a low-stock alert; record those separately so a short event is not mistaken for normal demand.
- If history seems missing, capture the displayed dates/build and compare to the official patch note; do not conclude that the save has lost all business data without preserving evidence.
| Ledger clue | Record separately | Do not conclude |
|---|---|---|
| Money change | Displayed earnings/transactions and dates | That every item has same margin |
| Reputation change | Visible rep effect and period | That cash and rep move together |
| History crosses season/year | Displayed start/end date and build | That an old patch has the later retention fix |
| Event/stock warning present | Event and inventory context | That the period is a normal baseline |

Frequently asked questions
Does the developer publish the best price for every shop item?
The cited patch notes clarify ledger effects; they do not publish a universal optimal-pricing table.
Is the 14-day ledger history guaranteed on every build/platform?
The note records a PC patch fix. Verify your installed build and platform rather than assuming simultaneous parity.
Can the worksheet calculate profit from my save?
No. It only keeps values you type and does not inspect the game or verify arithmetic in the ledger.
