Confirm the platform pair before syncing
Cross-save is not the same as cross-buy, cross-play or a local file copy. Supergiant's FAQ, updated October 22, 2026, lists the Steam version with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 and states Epic cross-saves are no longer supported. It also says cross-saves with other versions are not available. Use the checker below only to compare this published list; it cannot see an account or verify that a save exists.
| Current → target | Published FAQ status | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Steam ↔ Switch | Listed | Use the in-game Cross-Save flow; preserve both copies until the newer progress is confirmed |
| Steam ↔ Switch 2 | Listed | Use the in-game Cross-Save flow and inspect any cloud conflict before selecting |
| Switch ↔ Switch 2 | Listed | Use the supported cross-save/device transfer path described by Supergiant |
| Epic ↔ another platform | Not listed; FAQ says Epic cross-saves are no longer supported | Do not use an old Early Access tutorial as proof of current compatibility |
| Xbox / Microsoft Store / PS5 with another platform | Not listed among the FAQ's supported cross-save versions | Keep the local save intact and ask Supergiant support before any transfer |

If a listed PC–Nintendo save is missing
Supergiant's support steps intentionally create a cloud conflict so you can choose which save copy wins. That is a consequential choice: do not select a version until you have compared the progress displayed for both devices. The procedure below follows the official support branch and makes the decision point explicit.
- Confirm the current and target platform are one of the listed pairs and update/restart the game normally before trying the conflict flow.
- On PC, start a new game in the same save slot that should receive the Nintendo save, then close the game so that slot data uploads. Do not do this if you are unsure which slot should be linked.
- Start Hades II on Switch/Switch 2 and open Play; the official guide says a cloud conflict should appear for that slot. Read the choices and deliberately choose the copy with the progress you mean to keep. If the progress is unclear, cancel; do not select a save until you have compared both copies. Contact support instead if the progress remains ambiguous.
- After resolving it, enter a new Location to trigger a save, then pause and choose Sync & Quit as described in Supergiant's support steps.
- Reopen the other device and confirm the expected progress before making additional changes. The sequence is official guidance, not a transfer we performed or a guarantee against every network failure.
Use the local platform-pair checker
Select the source and destination. The checker reports whether Supergiant's FAQ lists that pair, distinguishes a same-platform choice and gives a caution before any cloud-conflict action. It never signs in, reads a save, copies a file or changes account data.

When the pair is not listed or conflict is unclear
Do not copy saves between arbitrary folders or rely on an old community post when the current FAQ explicitly narrows support. Keep both devices' progress untouched and contact Supergiant with platform, store, game build and the exact conflict prompt. Remove account names and private profile data before sharing screenshots.

Before you play
- I checked the exact store/platform pair against the current developer FAQ.
- I compared both save choices before resolving any cloud conflict.
- I kept unlisted pairs and console file paths out of speculative copy/rename advice.
Frequently asked questions
Can Epic Games Store saves cross-save with Switch now?
Supergiant's current FAQ says Epic cross-saves are no longer supported. Do not rely on older Early Access instructions.
Does Steam-to-Switch cross-save mean cross-buy?
No. The FAQ describes save transfer only; it does not say that buying one version grants another version.
Should I choose the newest timestamp in a cloud conflict?
The official support guide says to choose the save with the most progress. Compare the in-game progress carefully; timestamps alone do not prove which copy you want.
