Hades cross-save compatibility check

Choose the original Hades editions. The result is a source-based route reminder; it cannot inspect your account, ownership, save or cloud state.

documented switch cross save route

Supergiant documents Hades cross-saves between Switch and PC/Mac Steam or Epic; its Steam Deck section also describes syncing Switch data via Steam Cloud. Use the Switch Cross-Saves menu and check the source/destination-specific cloud settings.

Compatibility map: platform pair matters

The same publisher's pages give different rules by edition. A console upgrade offer or cloud-save toggle does not imply that every Hades version shares a save format. The table is a route check, not a guarantee that a particular profile is current.

Safe order for a supported PC/Switch transfer

The Cross-Saves option is on the Nintendo Switch Hades main menu. On PC/Mac, the official guide asks you to verify the relevant store's cloud-save setting and in-game Epic Services setting where applicable. If a conflict prompt appears, compare the displayed progress and update time instead of accepting a guess.

  1. Write down the exact source and destination editions (Steam, Epic, Switch, Microsoft Store, Xbox, PS4, PS5, or Steam Deck).
  2. If the pair is supported, launch Hades on the Switch and choose Cross-Saves from its main menu; follow the on-screen link flow.
  3. On Steam, verify Steam Cloud is enabled for Hades. On Epic, enable cloud saves in launcher settings and Epic Services in Hades settings, as the official guide specifies.
  4. Check that the Switch date/time and internet connection are correct, then restart the Switch if sync fails.
  5. If the game presents competing save copies, read the progress and timestamp shown by the game before deciding. Do not delete the other copy as a troubleshooting shortcut.
  6. If the pair is not listed as supported, keep the local saves separate and ask Supergiant support about the exact editions rather than moving files between console formats.

What this checker can and cannot decide

It compares the selected platform pair against the support guide's documented routes and returns the next official check. It cannot confirm ownership, a connected Epic account, cloud completion, whether two timestamps refer to the same profile, or whether your transfer succeeded.

Version and platform boundary

The support guide is Supergiant's platform-specific Hades help page, but storefront UI and OS menus can change. These instructions concern the original Hades; do not apply them to Hades II. For platform-specific notices or an unresolved conflict, use Supergiant's official guide/contact path. The linked Steam and Reddit communities are external user posts and are not verified fixes.

Before you play

  • Verify the source/destination pair before touching either save.
  • PC/Mac Steam or Epic ↔ Switch is the documented cross-save route; follow the Switch menu and the relevant cloud settings.
  • Microsoft Store PC ↔ Xbox uses the same Microsoft account; Steam Deck uses Steam Cloud.
  • PS4 and PS5 Hades saves do not transfer to one another, according to Supergiant's support page.
  • The checker cannot inspect accounts, entitlements, cloud state, or save conflicts.

Frequently asked questions

Does Hades support cross-save between PlayStation and PC?

Supergiant says no. Its support guide says cross-saves are not available for other versions beyond the documented PC/Mac-Switch and Xbox/Microsoft Store routes.

Does my Hades PS4 save transfer to PS5?

No. Supergiant's technical support guide says PS4 save data does not transfer to the PS5 version, even though the PS4 version is eligible for a PS5 upgrade.

Can Steam Deck sync with a Switch Hades save?

Supergiant says Steam Deck can sync Nintendo Switch cross-save data through Steam Cloud. The same Steam account and enabled cloud saves matter; this is not a general console-to-console transfer.

Does this page cover Hades II?

No. The routes here apply only to the original Hades.

Sources & revision notes

Editorial revision: November 6, 2026; not a gameplay test date. The reference notes identify source limits and version differences.

  1. Supergiant Games: Hades Technical Support Guide (Official)

Supergiant's platform-specific technical support guide covers cross-save boundaries, named save locations, recovery steps for Windows/Mac Slot 1, Microsoft Store session troubleshooting, Nintendo Switch sync checks, and Steam Deck cloud saves. It is the controlling source for platform-specific support; exact menus can change.

  2. Supergiant Games: Hades FAQ (Official)

Supergiant states that Hades cross-saves connect PC/Mac and Nintendo Switch, while PlayStation and Xbox versions do not support PC cross-saves. Use the newer Technical Support Guide for the full platform matrix and troubleshooting steps.

  3. Supergiant Games: Hades on Xbox and PlayStation (Official)

Supergiant says the console versions do not support PC cross-saves. Its support guide separately says PS4 save data does not transfer to PS5; do not infer data transfer from the PS4-to-PS5 upgrade entitlement.
