Pick by destination, not by the friend’s platform
These are character travel systems, not platform cross-play. World Visit stays within one logical data center. Data Center Travel crosses to another eligible logical data center, while physical-region availability is limited and the Lodestone says Oceania is currently unavailable for this system. Check current official status before planning around a specific destination.

Start Data Center Travel from Character Selection
World Visit starts at an aetheryte in Limsa Lominsa, Ul'dah or Gridania. Do not use one system's entry point for the other.
- Return to Character Selection and select the character's Data Center Travel subcommand.
- Confirm the travel notice, then choose the destination data center and World.
- Review the destination before confirming and proceeding.
- Wait for travel to finish and log in from Character Selection; Square Enix says the transfer cannot be canceled while underway.
- Use Return to Home World from Character Selection when you are ready to go back.

Plan around restrictions that affect the task
When visiting another World, Square Enix lists limits including retainers and market listings. Data Center Travel adds social and service restrictions: Free Company functions are unavailable across data centers, though purchasing from the market is allowed. The exact list differs by travel type, so consult the matching official guide before gathering, trading, housing or organizing a group.
