Why your travel type changes the answer
World Visit and Data Center Travel have separate official restriction lists. World Visit allows broad play on another World in the same logical data center; Data Center Travel adds restrictions on cross-data-center social systems. Check the source for the exact service you plan to use.
| Planned task | Preflight question | Safe next step |
|---|---|---|
| Sell or retrieve goods | Will I need a retainer or market listing? | Complete the sale at Home World or use only a documented available option |
| Free Company activity | Do I need chat, actions, or company management? | Plan that activity before traveling; DC travel restricts these functions |
| Gathering | Does the route require legendary/unspoiled nodes? | Check the Lodestone's current restriction list |
| Housing or ceremony | Will I purchase an estate or attend Eternal Bonding? | Verify the listed restriction and schedule at Home World |

A practical order for planning the trip
Use this sequence to keep the destination, travel system and task limits straight.
- Write down the destination World and its logical/physical data center.
- Choose World Visit or Data Center Travel based on the destination relationship.
- Name the activity you intend to do there: party, market, retainer, gathering, housing or social feature.
- Check that exact activity in the official travel guide; do not generalize a restriction from one travel mode to the other.
- Check Server Status and current capacity immediately before starting travel.

Keep volatile server details out of a static promise
Square Enix notes World classifications and travel capacities can change. This guide therefore avoids promising that a destination is open or naming a permanent region rule. The Lodestone status page is the operational source of truth.

Community reports need a date and data-center match
A player post can describe an earlier patch, different region or a temporary congestion event. Treat it as a clue, then verify the current Lodestone instructions and status.
