Read the official targets as a floor and a reference tier
The official table names discrete CPU and GPU examples plus API, storage and target settings. A family label such as 'RTX' is not sufficient: the minimum explicitly says RTX 2060 or above and also lists RX 6600 or Intel Arc A580. Laptop GPUs, thermal limits, driver versions and individual scenes are not evaluated by this checklist.
| Check item | Minimum published | Recommended published |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Windows 11 64-bit |
| CPU | Ryzen 5 1400 / Core i3-8100 | Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 3700X / Core i7-8700 or i5-10400 |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| GPU | RX 6600 / Intel Arc A580 / RTX 2060 (or above as stated) | RX 6700 XT / RTX 2070 |
| Install | 155 GB available; SSD required | 155 GB available; SSD required |
| Official note | 1080p / 30 FPS, Low; Shader Model 6.6 and DX12 Ultimate support | 1080p / 60 FPS, Medium; 12 GB VRAM recommended for 4K |

Check each constraint instead of using one headline number
The minimum spec is conjunctive: storage/API/OS/RAM/GPU/CPU each matter. A faster GPU does not substitute for the required SSD, and 16 GB RAM alone does not establish minimum compatibility. Square Enix states the listed 4K VRAM recommendation separately; it is not a 4K benchmark or a guarantee.
- Confirm this is a Windows PC install; do not use this checklist for PS5.
- Read the Windows edition/architecture and CPU model from your system information; compare the actual model rather than a brand or generation guess.
- Check installed RAM capacity. The published minimum and recommended rows both list 16 GB.
- Compare the exact GPU model with the official minimum/recommended examples and confirm Shader Model 6.6 plus DX12 Ultimate support with the GPU/OS vendor documentation.
- Check available capacity on the target SSD. The published install requirement is 155 GB; leave extra headroom for updates rather than filling the drive to the exact line.
- Treat the official 1080p targets as intended settings tiers. If below the minimum, the checker reports that one or more requirements are unconfirmed rather than claiming the game will not launch.
What this checker can and cannot say
It compares the categories you select to the requirement table, not to your actual machine. It does not run a hardware scan, inspect a laptop power profile, benchmark a scene, account for future patches, or estimate an average/p99 frame time. If the GPU falls between named tiers or is a laptop variant, the proper result is 'not confirmed by this comparison'—then check the vendor and current Square Enix support.

Turn an uncertain comparison into a useful next check
When one requirement is unknown, do not buy or reinstall based on a broad GPU family name. Record the exact CPU/GPU model, OS edition, RAM, DirectX feature support, SSD free space and storefront; compare them against Square Enix's current table and the device maker's specification sheet. A result that meets the listed minimum only means the entered categories match the published floor—it still is not an FPS result.
- Use Windows System Information and Task Manager only to read the model names and installed memory yourself; this site does not access those values.
- For a laptop GPU, check the full laptop model and GPU power/thermal specification rather than comparing it directly to a desktop card name.
- If the game is already installed and performance is the problem, consult a separate current settings guide and record the same scene/settings for comparisons; this minimum-spec checker is not a performance diagnosis.

Before you play
- I confirmed Windows PC rather than console scope.
- I compared exact CPU and GPU models, not just brand names.
- I checked 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12 / Shader Model 6.6 / DX12 Ultimate, and a 155 GB SSD install.
- I treated 1080p/30 Low and 1080p/60 Medium as official spec targets, not my measured FPS.
- I used vendor documentation for laptop/variant details the published table does not resolve.
Frequently asked questions
Will the game run if one component is below minimum?
The official page does not guarantee behavior below its listed minimum. This browser checklist cannot predict launch or performance.
Does 'recommended' mean stable 60 FPS everywhere?
No. It is Square Enix's stated 1080p/60 Medium target, not a GamerWin benchmark or per-scene guarantee.
Is 155 GB enough for every future patch?
155 GB is the published available-storage requirement at the time checked. Reserve additional disk headroom for patching and verify the current storefront listing.
