Triage an Academy guide mismatch
Patch boundaries matter because the Academy system received an explicit overhaul. A post can accurately describe the earlier game and still be a poor guide for your current save.
- From the main menu, record the displayed version and whether Steam Properties shows a beta/community branch.
- Record installed DLC and current game mode before comparing Academy options.
- Check the official announcement archive for the (Re)Awakening update and any later community update relevant to your build.
- Compare the actual Academy screen and available actions in your session; treat old screenshots as historical evidence, not current instructions.
- Do not switch branch or load an old save to chase a guide unless you understand the save/mod compatibility risks and have a separate backup.
