Preflight the accounts and the one-time operation
- Confirm the console account and the destination Frontier account; use Frontier's current migration portal and verify the PC game license separately.
- Record the CMDR name, ships, stored modules and core progress you expect to copy without sharing account credentials.
- Review exclusions: Frontier lists unspent ARX balance, Fleet Carriers/contents, squadron membership, friends/blocks/private groups, bookmarks and current missions among items that do not copy.
- If you own a Fleet Carrier, follow Frontier's decommission guidance before requesting a copy; credits may transfer but carrier assets do not.
- Submit only after confirming the destination account and the one-time copy warning; Frontier says accounts are temporarily unavailable during processing.

Transfer scope table
| Profile element | Frontier says | Before starting |
|---|---|---|
| Ships, modules, credits and core progression | Included in the PC copy | Compare account and destination license |
| Unspent ARX balance | Not copied; remains on console | Spend on desired eligible cosmetics first if needed |
| Fleet Carrier and contents | Not copied | Decommission first if you want the credits transferred |
| Bookmarks, friends, squadron and current missions | Not copied | Save notes externally; do not expect this state to sync |
| Original console CMDR | Remains playable after a copy | During the copy both accounts are temporarily frozen |
| Copy process | One-time only | Review every exclusion before confirming |

Verify the PC Commander after processing
A transfer completion email does not confirm every expected profile detail. Frontier describes a copied profile; check the live client before continuing and retain support correspondence privately.
- Wait for Frontier's completion notice and then launch the PC client using the intended Frontier account.
- Verify commander, ships/modules and core progression in the PC account before buying, deleting or renaming anything.
- Expect items on the exclusions list to remain absent from the PC copy; use Frontier Support for discrepancies.
- Keep console and PC clients distinct; don't assume later progress synchronizes between them.

- I handled Fleet Carrier and ARX choices before submitting.
- I understand this is a one-time copy, not ongoing cross-save.
- I kept credentials and private FID/support details out of public discussion.

Do bookmarks and Fleet Carriers copy?
Frontier lists bookmarks and Fleet Carriers/contents among the excluded profile elements.
Can I submit another copy later?
Frontier says this is a one-time-only process; recheck the current support page before confirming.
Sources & revision notes
Editorial revision: November 6, 2026; not a gameplay test date. The reference notes identify source limits and version differences.
- Frontier Support: Commander Migrations and Transfers (Official)
Frontier's March 17, 2026 page describes a one-time console-to-PC CMDR copy, lists what transfers and excludes items such as ARX balance, Fleet Carriers, bookmarks and current mission progress. Both accounts are temporarily frozen during processing; re-read the live list before confirming.
- Frontier Support: Versions, memberships and account limits (Official)
Frontier's account reference covers client/expansion and platform limitations. It should be checked alongside the migration article; a commander copy is not a shared, synchronized cross-save.
- Elite Dangerous player discussions (Community)
External community reports can refer to Legacy, Live, Odyssey or different launcher entitlements. Identify the client and platform; do not post account email, FID publicly or support credentials.
