Separate vessel fit from build quality
A color match answers only whether a relic can go in the selected vessel slot. It does not tell you whether the effect is useful against a target, currently balanced, unlocked, or compatible with another effect. Bandai Namco's starter guide explains matching-color slots and uncolored wildcard slots; its downloadable PDF provides the same basic equipment rule.
| Vessel slot | Relic color | Color-only result |
|---|---|---|
| Red | Red | Fits |
| Blue | Green | Does not fit |
| Uncolored / wildcard | Any listed color | Fits by the official guide's wildcard rule |
| No free slot | Any color | No remaining capacity |

Check slots, then equip from the altar
Use the character's own Relic Rite vessel rather than assuming every Nightfarer shares the same slot pattern. The relic setup is accessed from the Relic Rite altar in Roundtable Hold. Later updates added filters and presets, so use the game menu for final confirmation rather than relying on a typed plan.
- At Roundtable Hold, open the Relic Rites menu at the altar and select the Nightfarer you intend to prepare.
- Read each vessel slot's displayed color; mark a slot uncolored only if the game UI shows it has no color restriction.
- Enter the colors of the specific relics you actually want to use in the checker. Do not include an item just because its effect name sounds relevant.
- If the color-only plan fits, equip the relics in-game and inspect the effect descriptions and current status display. If it does not fit, remove or replace one relic, or choose a different vessel you have unlocked.
- For many saved items, use the game's Relic Effect filter. Version 1.02 documents opening it from the Relic Rites menu with the left stick or the 4 key on keyboard, and says multiple chosen conditions combine as filters.
- Save a preset only after verifying the final loadout in-game. The 1.02 notes raised the registered preset limit to 100; this is a dated update note, not a guarantee that later menu behavior is unchanged.

Use the local color-fit checker
The checker compares the three slot colors you enter with up to three selected relic colors. It reports color fit only; it does not recommend a build or use external inventory data. Inputs stay in this page and are not submitted.

Use patches for effect values, not a static tier list
Relic effects and character interactions can change through balance patches. Bandai Namco's 1.03.2 notes, for example, changed several relic effects. Compare effect text and the active-status display in your installed build, then consult the official update feed for the relevant patch; this guide intentionally avoids calling any relic universally best.

Before you play
- Select the correct Nightfarer and inspect their currently selected Relic Rite vessel.
- Match each colored slot to the same relic color; an explicitly uncolored slot is the wildcard.
- Use the checker as a fit aid only; verify effect text and final equipment in-game.
- Use the official Relic Effect filter when sorting a large collection; don't assume the 2025 interface note is unchanged forever.
- Check the official update feed before relying on a specific relic effect or balance value.
Frequently asked questions
Can any relic go in an uncolored slot?
Bandai Namco's official starter guide says certain advanced rites have uncolored slots that accommodate any relic color.
Does a matching color mean the relic is a good choice?
No. It only means the color/slot combination fits. The planner does not evaluate effect strength, build synergy, target matchup, size or current balance.
Can I sort relics by effect in-game?
Version 1.02 added Relic Effect filters, accessed from the Relic Rites menu using the left stick or 4 key on keyboard according to those patch notes. Check current controls if your build differs.
How many relic presets can be registered?
The Version 1.02 patch notes increased the limit to 100. Treat that as the documented limit for that update, and verify the current menu if later patches changed it.
