What the tool documents—and what it does not

Funcom introduced the Base Reconstruction Tool to store and redeploy a base in Hagga Basin, including its contents. The original notes describe separate Backup and Place Base modes, a one-week cooldown per Sub-fief, and up to three stored bases. Because those limits originate in the 1.2.30 patch announcement, check the current tool UI for any later changes before relying on them.

Use the placement preview as a real safety gate

Patch 1.5.15.0 changed full-building-hologram rotation to match the Construction Tool and added Advanced Sub-fief visibility to the reconstruction hologram. It also fixed a crash when placing a large base and corrected backup/placement notifications. These fixes reduce known friction but are not a guarantee that every placement is valid.

  1. Select the intended stored base and inspect the hologram before confirming placement.
  2. Check whether the target overlaps a no-building area, violates stability, or leaves pieces outside the landclaim; the 1.5.15 notes describe a confirmation popup for a partly encompassed base.
  3. Rotate and reposition the preview, then confirm only after the game shows the intended base and you understand any warning.
  4. If the placement preview is missing or crashes, record the build and platform, restart only after preserving the exact prompt/error, and consult the current official patch notes or support.

Keep versions and claims bounded

The 1.2.30 cooldown and storage count are dated launch notes for the feature; 1.5.15 is newer and documents UI and bug fixes, not a complete replacement manual. This guide therefore does not promise a fixed present-day cooldown, guarantee that all placed items are retained, or claim a backup can restore any failure.

If a backup or placement does not appear

The 1.5.15.0 notes list fixes for a base that was not shown because it was too large, a placement crash for large bases, and corrected backup notification text. Those are specific fixes in the published notes, not a universal recovery guarantee. Preserve the exact screen and build before trying a destructive option.

  1. Record platform, displayed build, selected backup name and exact message.
  2. Check whether the selected entry belongs to the expected Sub-fief and whether a cooldown or capacity limit is visible.
  3. Do not choose Destroy Base Backup to troubleshoot a missing entry; the 1.2.40 UI notes say deletion requires a typed confirmation because it is destructive.
  4. Compare the current patch notes and contact Funcom support if the entry remains missing or placement repeatedly fails.

Before you play

  • I verified the stored base entry rather than assuming the backup ran.
  • I checked the live cooldown and number of available backup slots.
  • I kept vehicles and cargo containers on the separate vehicle checklist.
  • I inspected the whole placement hologram and all warnings before confirming.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restore a base in a different location?

The 1.2.30 notes say a base can be placed away from its original location when stability and overlap conditions are met. Check the current preview and server rules.

Does a base backup include a cargo container or vehicle?

No. The character-transfer notes classify the cargo container as a vehicle and call for the separate Vehicle Backup Tool.

Does the latest patch guarantee large base placement works?

No. The 1.5.15.0 notes say a specific large-base placement crash was fixed. They do not guarantee every layout or server placement.
