Cyberpunk 2077 Cross-Progression: Check Mods and Phantom Liberty First

Use the actual Cross Progression save path

CD PROJEKT RED says the latest Quick, Auto, Manual and other save types upload automatically when Cross Progression is enabled. Its steps use the Cross Progression control in Load Game, a CD PROJEKT RED account, and a newly created save; a cloud icon appears beside the uploaded save. The destination must connect to the same account.

1. Update Cyberpunk 2077 on the source and destination platforms.
2. Open Load Game and use the Cross Progression control; sign in to the intended CD PROJEKT RED account.
3. Check Settings → Gameplay → Enable cross-platform Saves if the toggle was changed.
4. Create a new source save and wait until the cloud icon appears beside it.
5. On the destination, use My Rewards to connect the same CD PROJEKT RED account, then look for the cloud save in Load Game.

Compare Phantom Liberty content direction

The official support note describes an asymmetric content rule. A base-game save without Phantom Liberty can load in Ultimate Edition, but an Ultimate Edition save cannot load in an install without the expansion because required content would be missing. This is not a general store-ownership check: verify the actual target platform account and installed product.

If the save used in-game mods

CD PROJEKT RED says Cross Progression requires the same set of mods enabled on both platforms. A missing or incompatible mod on the target may prevent the save from loading. The in-game mod.io menu is listed for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2; check each mod's Available on consoles tag rather than assuming that subscriptions imply compatibility.

1. On the source, note which mods were enabled when the save was created; a save created while mods were enabled is marked with a mod.io cog.
2. On the destination, check the Installed list and make sure the same compatible mods are present and enabled.
3. For PC-to-console play, inspect each mod page for the Available on consoles tag.
4. If a mod is missing or incompatible, do not overwrite your only copy of the target save while troubleshooting; preserve a separate manual/cloud save where the platform permits.
5. Remember: CD PROJEKT RED says console achievements/trophies are disabled on modded save files.
