Know what signup commits—and what it does not
The enrollment roster is not necessarily the exact set of attackers for every day. Supercell describes the roster as the pool of players who can participate in the season's wars and gain rewards. During the week, leaders can change the Battle Day lineup during Preparation Day.
Supercell's support page says the signup period gives leaders two days to enter matchmaking with at least 15 players selected. All clan members are included by default according to its article, so leaders should review the actual selected list rather than assume the default equals their intended active roster.
| Decision | What it controls | Check in the game |
|---|---|---|
| Season signup roster | Who is in the CWL participation pool | Selected names and minimum roster before enrolling |
| War size | How many positions are used for the chosen CWL format | Sizes offered for your league this season |
| Daily Battle Day lineup | Who attacks in that day's war | Current lineup before Battle Day starts |
| Clan Castle donations | Defensive support for roster members | War Map donation requests; roster members can fill clanmates' Castles |

Choose a roster and size from current constraints
- Open the CWL signup card from the current Clan Wars entry point; Supercell's recent UI notes say this can appear in Clan chat during signup, rather than as a permanent home-screen button.
- Review the roster player by player. Include people the clan can realistically rotate into daily lineups and who can participate; do not equate a member's war preference toggle with guaranteed exclusion from selection.
- Confirm the minimum of 15 selected players stated by Supercell before entering matchmaking.
- Choose one of the war sizes offered for this clan and league. Supercell's support page describes 15v15 and 30v30, with Champion limited to 15v15; if the live season screen differs, follow the current screen and support article.
- Confirm enrollment once the list and size are correct. During matching, do not cancel and restart casually: Supercell says the matching queue prioritizes clans that signed up earlier, so restarting can send the clan to lower priority.

Worked roster example: 18 available, 15 reliable
Suppose 18 members are interested but only 15 can reliably play each day. The useful planning question is not merely whether all 18 fit the roster; it is whether the leaders have a clear rotation and a daily lineup that includes players able to use their attack. A larger participation pool can give rotation flexibility, but it does not create extra attacks for a player in a day.
Before signup, list the 15 dependable participants and identify any extra members as rotation choices. Then verify the available size and selected roster on the live screen; do not promise that an enrolled player will attack every day.
| Roster plan | Practical implication | Leader action |
|---|---|---|
| Exactly 15 dependable players | Little rotation buffer | Confirm each can cover the planned week before enrolling |
| 15 dependable + 3 rotation options | More lineup flexibility, but daily lineup still needs explicit choices | Agree who is backup and who confirms availability |
| Fewer than 15 selected | Below Supercell's published signup minimum | Recruit/confirm enough members before starting enrollment |

Run each war day as a separate lineup-and-attack check
A CWL week consists of a series of wars, not one single all-week lineup. Supercell says leaders can change the next Battle Day lineup on Preparation Day; each player in that day's lineup has one attack. Coordinate donated Clan Castle defenses separately from each attacker's army request.
The local roster helper lets you write down the roster, daily lineup, and whether each listed player has used today's attack. It is a private page checklist only; it cannot see clan membership, the map, or attack status.
- On Preparation Day, check the next opponent and choose that day's lineup.
- Have each selected player confirm availability and inspect their own attack preparation.
- Use the War Map to coordinate defensive Clan Castle donations; these are distinct from the troops requested for attacking.
- After Battle Day starts, track each lineup member's one attack and update the checklist manually.
- Before the next war, reset the daily checklist and select the next lineup.

Frequently asked questions
How many players are needed to sign up for CWL?
Supercell's CWL support page says at least 15 players must be selected for signup. Confirm the current in-game flow in case the rule changes.
Does every rostered player attack every war day?
Not necessarily. The roster is the eligible pool; leaders can change the daily lineup during Preparation Day. Each player in that day's lineup gets one attack, according to Supercell's week-of-wars guide.
Can I choose 30v30 in every league?
No. Supercell's support article says Champion league only offers 15v15. Check the options shown to your clan in the current season.
Should we cancel and restart matchmaking if it takes a while?
Supercell says matchmaking gives priority to clans that signed up earlier; cancelling and restarting lowers that priority. Check the current support article before resetting a queue.
