Build a precise Captain of Industry troubleshooting note

Record the variables that change the correct support route. Your entries stay in this page until you choose to copy the note; they are not uploaded or saved. Never enter passwords, recovery codes, payment details, or another player's personal data.

Suggested next step

Record the exact build, mod state, source, consumer, storage contents and vehicle job; no save or factory is read by this checklist.

Find the first broken link

An empty recipe input is the symptom, not yet the cause. Separate source stock, vehicle assignment, route reachability, delivery destination, storage contents and the Assembly's local input. Update 4.3 product-flow overlays can help locate producers and consumers, but an overlay is evidence to inspect, not a diagnosis by itself.

  1. Select the stalled Assembly and note the exact missing product and its current input stock.
  2. Check that the recipe is selected/unlocked and that the needed product exists at a source or storage.
  3. Inspect the assigned truck/miner and its current job; verify the pickup and destination are reachable and permitted.
  4. Check the destination storage itself for the required product. If using mixed-material storage, inspect its contents rather than reading only the storage type.
  5. Follow the final belt or pipe into the Assembly and confirm direction, connection and product compatibility.

Choose a transfer size that fits the consumer

The wiki lists Truck capacity as 60 and specifically warns that Assemblies cannot reserve 60 units of materials. Its suggested pattern is truck to storage, then belt/pipe from storage to the production building. This is a routing explanation, not a guarantee that every recipe requires the same buffer or that more storage alone solves an unreachable route.

Observed stateCheck nextAvoid assuming
Truck job completes but Assembly input stays lowWhether delivery went to accessible storage and the final belt/pipe is connectedThat the Assembly can reserve a truck-sized batch
Storage shows a product but recipe still stallsCorrect product, allowed slot, mixed-load contents, belt/pipe directionThat nearby stock is automatically available to every consumer
Truck has no useful jobSource stock, assigned transport, destination and route reachabilityThat adding another truck fixes a blocked or unassigned route

A practical diagnostic example

If an Assembly is short of metal while the warehouse has metal, write down three states: Assembly input stock, warehouse stock, and whether a belt actually connects them. If the warehouse instead shows mixed mined material, inspect its contents and the sorting/delivery step. Change one route or buffer at a time and read the same panel again; this worksheet does not simulate the factory.

Before you play

  • Exact Assembly ingredient and input stock recorded.
  • Recipe and unlock state confirmed.
  • Truck has an assigned, reachable source and destination.
  • Destination storage contains the required product, not merely another mixed load.
  • Final belt/pipe connection and direction checked.
  • Update 4.3 behavior and mod state noted before comparing old advice.

Frequently asked questions

How much can a Truck carry?

The game-linked wiki lists a capacity of 60 units. Confirm the vehicle inspector in your current build.

Why does the wiki recommend storage between a Truck and Assembly?

It says Assemblies cannot reserve 60 units of materials and recommends truck delivery to storage followed by belt/pipe feed.

Does this checklist see my save?

No. It only helps you record observations in your browser; it cannot inspect a route, storage or mod.
