Separate purchase ownership from local installation
A DLC access message can reflect a different account, edition or download state. Nintendo's support route starts with software/DLC availability and eShop redownload; confirm the purchase on the account that owns it before making changes to the game or save.
| Observation | Verify | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| DLC menu missing | Original Switch software/region and current DLC entitlement | Assuming a save was deleted |
| DLC shows not purchased | Nintendo Account and eShop purchase history | Buying again on a second account without checking |
| Purchased but not active | Installed content and current in-game unlock/menu | Deleting saved game data to refresh a license |
| Moved to another console | Account, software ownership and current redownload/virtual-card route | Applying old console instructions to a different model |

Use Nintendo's support route in order
Nintendo's current menu names can change between Switch and Switch 2. Follow the support article matching the console generation and region, and leave the Breath of the Wild save untouched while checking store entitlement.
- Record console generation, software edition/region and the Nintendo Account currently selected.
- Check purchase history or eShop entitlement on the account that bought the DLC.
- Confirm the correct software is installed and use Nintendo's current redownload/download-data route for that console.
- Open the game and check the DLC-specific in-game menu or unlock condition described by Nintendo for the edition.
- If entitlement still does not appear, contact Nintendo support with the transaction/account details they request—never post receipts or email publicly.
- Do not delete the save or transfer it as a troubleshooting step unless Nintendo specifically directs it.
