EA Secure Boot guide

Read the reported Windows values first

EA says Secure Boot is a Battlefield 6 PC requirement. Windows System Information shows the BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State values that help determine whether the requirement appears enabled. This is a read-only check; it is not proof that the game's anti-cheat has validated every part of the boot chain.

  1. Press Windows key + R, enter msinfo32 and open System Information.
  2. Find BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State in System Summary.
  3. Record the exact values; do not infer them from the motherboard brand or a BIOS menu screenshot.
  4. Compare them with EA's Secure Boot guidance and your device manufacturer's instructions.

Choose the safe next action

A Legacy BIOS Mode or Secure Boot Off result is not an invitation to switch settings blindly. A firmware change can affect booting and recovery; the correct route depends on the installed Windows configuration and device.

Use the local preflight without exposing device data

The checker uses only the two values you select. It does not scan Windows, send data, write to firmware or certify anti-cheat compatibility.

If Battlefield still rejects the PC

Do not repeatedly change unrelated BIOS options. Preserve the exact in-game prompt and the Windows values, then follow EA's current help article or the hardware vendor's instructions.

  1. Write down the exact Battlefield message or code and when it appears.
  2. Record BIOS Mode and Secure Boot State as displayed by msinfo32.
  3. Check the EA setup page and the PC/motherboard vendor's supported process.
  4. If disk encryption is enabled, confirm you can access the recovery key before a firmware change.
  5. If values already show UEFI and On, ask EA Help about the exact prompt instead of altering unrelated firmware settings.

Before you play

  • Read msinfo32 values instead of guessing from firmware menus.
  • Separated UEFI mode from Secure Boot state.
  • Checked manufacturer instructions and recovery readiness before any firmware mutation.
  • Kept this local checker separate from EA's actual device validation.

Frequently asked questions

Is Secure Boot required for Battlefield 6 on PC?

EA's announcement says it is required. This guide does not extend that statement to consoles.

Can the tool turn Secure Boot on?

No. It only classifies the values you enter and does not inspect or change your PC.

Should I change BIOS settings if it says Off?

Not by guesswork. Use EA and the manufacturer's instructions and consider recovery-key implications first.
