Use the verification window as a compatibility diff

Larian describes the window as the place to synchronize installed/enabled mods with the save or multiplayer session. It can propose downloading a missing mod, enabling one, updating/downgrading a version, or identifying extra/New Mods and Third-party entries. Do not click through a mismatch without reviewing its direction.

Align the party without altering the campaign blindly

A successful modded cross-play session is not just the same mod names: Larian calls for the same mods and versions. Its official mod-support page also describes platform/version differences for modded cross-saves. Keep a backup before modifying a campaign and use Larian's support steps if the verification window reports a mismatch.

  1. Ask the host to record the campaign's enabled mod names and versions from the game's current interface.
  2. Each participant compares their Installed list—not only subscriptions—and updates through the game's supported manager where available.
  3. At launch or join, read every verification-window category and compare its proposed actions with the host's set.
  4. Do not accept an unexpected downgrade, third-party file or platform-incompatible mod without checking the source and save risk.
  5. If the party still cannot load, test the same session without mods as Larian suggests; preserve the original modded save and record the result.
  6. Share only redacted mod names, versions, platform and error text in support/community posts; never upload account credentials or an unrequested save.

Can GamerWin verify my installed mods?

No. This worksheet is browser-local and has no access to the game, files or mod accounts.

Sources & revision notes

Editorial revision: November 7, 2026; not a gameplay test date. The reference notes identify source limits and version differences.

  1. Larian Support: Synchronising Baldur's Gate 3 mods (Official)

Larian's verification window identifies mods that need download, enable, update or downgrade when loading a save or multiplayer session. Multiplayer participants need the same mods and versions. Third-party mods are distinguished in the interface; do not assume every mod is supported on every platform.

  2. Larian Support: Account services and BG3 cross-saves (Official)

Larian says cross-save keeps a copy of the last ten saves on its servers for up to six months, while each save should also remain stored locally. Its notice says inactive cross-saves older than six months began expiring September 29, 2026. This is a cloud-copy retention policy, not a claim that local files are deleted.

  3. Baldur's Gate 3 Steam Community Discussions (Community)

External user-generated PC/Steam discussions, not verified Larian advice. Mod lists, versions, platform and save state are essential context; never download saves or mod files from unsolicited replies.
