Separate the game build from the server's settings
ARK: Survival Ascended is a separate product from ARK: Survival Evolved. The official patch-note page checked for this guide is titled v96.6 but also states that the Official ARK Server Network is at v94.22. That difference is a concrete reason to record the client and server build separately rather than claim a single universal 'current ARK version'. The imprint calculator itself depends on settings and the creature's baseline time, not a patch number alone.
- Confirm the installed product says ARK: Survival Ascended, not Survival Evolved.
- Record the title-screen/client build and the server or single-player mode. If a server build is shown separately, preserve both values.
- Open the host's actual Game.ini/settings panel and read the three multiplier names in the tool; do not assume a host preset uses official defaults.
- If Single Player Settings is enabled, treat the calculation as an approximation: the community reference says those settings can change effective maturation and care behavior.

Enter like-for-like inputs
The estimator uses the community wiki's formula: V = IAM / (TMT / (MSP × DCIT × CIM) − 0.25), clamped to 0–100%. Here TMT is the species' base maturation time in seconds at 1.0 mature speed, MSP is BabyMatureSpeedMultiplier, CIM is BabyCuddleIntervalMultiplier, IAM is BabyImprintAmountMultiplier, and DCIT is the default 28,800-second interval (8 hours). The widget accepts TMT in hours and converts it to seconds.
- Look up the chosen species' base maturation time in a community reference, then verify the in-game timer for your build and settings.
- Enter the base time at 1.0x—not an already boosted server time—then enter your effective MSP, CIM and IAM values.
- Compare the estimated affinity per care with the live displayed imprint percentage and next-care timer after the baby is claimed.
- If the values disagree, stop tuning by guesswork. Recheck Single Player Settings, event boosts, server overrides, species exceptions and whether the host values are effective rather than raw config.

Read the result as a planning estimate, not a promise
At the community wiki's worked Rex example, the input is 333,333.3125 seconds of base maturation at 1.0x with the listed default multipliers. The formula gives approximately 8.83% per care, while the same page explains that game-code operation order and rounding can produce a slightly different displayed outcome and reports 11 total interactions in its game example. That mismatch is why GamerWin shows the formula-derived percentage but does not promise an exact interaction count or schedule.
| Result or condition | Use it for | Do not conclude |
|---|---|---|
| Estimated affinity per care | Compare how a proposed multiplier set changes the formula output | That exact percent will appear in the live UI |
| Estimated adult time | A rough baseline from entered base time ÷ mature speed | That a particular species/build will mature on that clock to the minute |
| Official or single-player defaults | A starting point for reading a configuration | That an unofficial host, event, mod or SP-adjusted world matches it |
| Tool and game disagree | A prompt to capture build, effective settings and observed timer | That either the player or the game is broken without checking context |

Keep a reproducible settings note
If a tribe is comparing settings, record the values and mode with the observation instead of reporting only 'imprint is too slow'. This tool uses local input only and does not inspect a server, save file or baby. An estimate is useful for narrowing a question; it cannot validate a host configuration.

Before you play
- I have the ASA client build, mode and (if applicable) server build.
- I used a base species maturation value at 1.0x and the effective settings for this world.
- I understand the formula and game can round differently; the in-game timer is authoritative.
- I did not interpret an estimate as a played test or compatibility guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool guarantee 100% imprint before adulthood?
No. It estimates affinity per care from a community formula. Game-code rounding, Single Player Settings, events, creature exceptions and host overrides can change the live result.
Can I use ARK: Survival Evolved numbers?
Do not assume so. This article is scoped to Survival Ascended and tells you to verify the ASA species time, build and effective settings.
Why do the official patch notes show two build numbers?
The checked official page title is v96.6 while a line on that same page lists Official ARK Server Network v94.22. Client and server/channel builds must be recorded separately.

Developer/publisher store listing checked November 5, 2026; identifies ARK: Survival Ascended as a distinct product. It is not a mechanics reference for breeding settings.
- Studio Wildcard: ASA server patch notes, v96.6 page (Official)
Official publisher forum page checked November 5, 2026. Its title/update identifies v96.6, while a separate line on the same page says the Official ARK Server Network is at v94.22. Treat client, server and platform builds as distinct; this page does not establish one universal build for every player.
- ARK Official Community Wiki: Imprinting (Community)
Community-maintained mechanics reference checked November 5, 2026 using its MediaWiki source. It documents the imprint equation, the 8-hour default interval and rounding caveats; it is not a Studio Wildcard specification and may lag a patch. Verify the live in-game values.
