The progress boundary is the EA Account
EA's current help article says Apex progress is permanently tied to the EA Account. Cross Progression lets linked platforms access the associated profile, but it does not migrate progress from one EA Account to another or combine Apex profiles across EA Accounts.
| Account history | EA's stated behavior | Safer next step |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms linked to the same EA Account | Cross Progression can expose that EA profile across platforms | Confirm the correct EA Account in EA Account Portal before launching elsewhere |
| Platform unlinked from its original EA Account | Access to progress/content may be lost while unlinked | Relink only to the original EA Account if that is the intended profile |
| Platform linked to a different EA Account | Old progress will not move to the new EA Account | Stop and ask EA Support before unlinking or relinking |
| Progress spread across two EA Accounts | EA says Apex progress cannot be merged between them | Decide which EA profile you intend to use; do not expect transfer |

Check before unlinking or starting on another platform
The checklist below is deliberately account-blind. It helps identify assumptions that need to be verified in EA's Account Portal; it cannot tell which email or profile owns your inventory.
- Open EA Account Portal directly and record privately which EA Account is linked to each platform account.
- Confirm the EA Account that contains the progress you want. Do not enter passwords, email addresses or Public IDs in this site.
- If you have multiple EA Accounts, do not expect Apex profiles or purchases to merge between them.
- If you already unlinked, EA says relinking to the original EA Account can restore access; do not substitute another EA Account assuming it will carry progress.
- For inaccessible or mismatched links, contact EA Support before repeating unlink/relink actions. Keep receipts and account identifiers private.

What this local account-risk check can and cannot decide
It can highlight whether your self-reported situation is low-risk to review, uncertain, or a stop-and-contact-support case. It cannot validate account ownership, restore content, detect bans, determine cross-platform currency exceptions, or predict a support outcome.

Keep community account advice separate from official recovery
EA Forums can help identify whether other players have seen a similar symptom, but posts are user-generated and may describe a different platform, account history or season. Treat them as leads, not proof that unlinking is safe or that progress can be transferred.
