Separate the three changes
World's Edge calls out persistent campaign level, reset selected campaign cards/custom decks, and removal of hidden card-level requirements. Those are different outcomes; a reset deck can coexist with a retained level.
| What you see | What Update 19.18309 says | What to verify in-game |
|---|---|---|
| Earlier mission no longer drops Home City level | Progress is now persistent across each Act | Campaign, Act and civilization selected |
| Selected cards or custom deck differs | Selected campaign cards and custom decks reset | Re-select the intended campaign deck/cards |
| Campaign card previously appeared locked | Hidden Home City level requirements were removed | Check whether the card is now available and whether unlock points remain |
| Asian Dynasties level seems separate | Persistence is across specific civilizations for that campaign | Compare the exact civilization and campaign |

Audit the campaign state before grinding
The patch notes describe an intentional progression-system change. A repeat of an early mission is not needed merely to restore the old per-mission level behavior; first inspect the active campaign Home City, Act and selected cards.
- Check the installed build/update history and confirm Update 19.18309 or later is present.
- Record whether you are in a campaign, the Act, campaign civilization and active Home City.
- Compare current Home City level with the highest level you had achieved; the notes say that highest level carries over.
- Open the campaign Home City and reselect cards/custom deck if they were among the selections reset by the update.
- Check the card's current UI requirement instead of relying on an old hidden-level guide.
- If progress appears missing beyond these stated changes, use official support with platform, storefront, campaign and civilization; do not post account identifiers or assume a reset is normal.

Ask the community with the update context
For player comparison, include the build, storefront, campaign Act and civilization, and distinguish a reset deck from a lost level. Older posts may describe the pre-update per-mission system; treat them as dated reports rather than current rules.

The official notes say the highest achieved level safely carries over; selected campaign cards and custom decks are reset.
Does campaign progression now persist across every civilization?
