Anno 117 storage movement ledger

Enter totals from the same good and same island scope for one chosen interval. The ledger compares basic arithmetic with the closing stock you observed; it does not reproduce the game's accounting, read a save or diagnose a bug.

Entered-flow closing stock: 95.

Observed minus entered-flow estimate: 0. Recheck island scope, sample interval, in-transit goods and omitted flows before interpreting the difference.

The tool uses only the numbers in this browser tab. Inputs reset on reload and are not uploaded or saved. Anno 117's Storage tab and its stock-over-time/trade-history views remain authoritative.

Keep the comparison on one scope and one interval

Update 3.0 adds a Storage tab with stored goods, stock over time and active/passive trade history for an island or multiple islands combined. Update 2.0 also added a shortcut from production-building menus to Statistics. That makes the screen useful for tracing where stock moved, but only when the player compares the same good, time window and island scope.

  1. Open the affected production building and use its Statistics shortcut, or open the Statistics screen directly.
  2. Choose Storage, select the exact good and decide whether the question is about one island or a combined view.
  3. Read stock over time across a specific interval; do not compare a single-island chart with a combined total.
  4. Inspect active and passive trade history for the same island and interval, then note whether the good was bought, sold or transferred.

Use the ledger to find which flow is missing from your notes

For one good over one interval, the tool computes opening stock + production − consumption + active purchases − active sales + passive purchases − passive sales. Enter the observed closing stock separately. The difference is an arithmetic prompt: omitted movement, a different interval or a different island scope can all explain it. This simplified equation is not a complete simulation of Anno's logistics, buildings or trade timing.

  1. Record opening stock and observed closing stock from the same Storage view and same interval.
  2. Enter production and consumption for that interval, then active/passive purchases and sales separately.
  3. Compare the calculated variance with the game's stock-over-time and trade-history views.
  4. If a variance remains, check island selection, time window, in-transit ships, building inventories and any flows not represented by your entered categories before calling it a bug.

Check island requirements before escalating a production symptom

A stock shortage can be upstream of the production building. The community-maintained Anno Companion guide says the Province Map hover shows island fertilities and lodes; its guide also states those map-generation choices are fixed after a world is created, though research may add certain fertilities or allowed building areas. Use the live island tooltip as final authority, and distinguish island fertility/lode requirements from building-space, river-slot or mountain-slot requirements.

Apply the consumption change to the right save generation

Ubisoft's Patch 3.0 note says the higher-consumption balancing applies to new saves and does not change existing savegames. If an established settlement appears to consume more after updating, first compare the actual save settings and the Storage interval instead of attributing the difference to a universal patch change.

  1. Record whether the world was created before or after the patch and confirm its current difficulty/consumption setting.
  2. Compare the same good over equal in-game intervals; do not contrast an old short sample with a new long one.
  3. Use stock-over-time and the trade-history categories to find changes in imports, exports or consumption.
  4. Keep the update's announced default separate from a setting changed manually in an existing world.

Before you play

  • I checked Statistics → Storage and used the same good, interval and island scope throughout.
  • I reviewed active and passive trade history before changing the production chain.
  • I treated the ledger variance as a prompt to find omitted flows, not as proof of a bug.
  • I checked the island's actual fertility/lode and building placement requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Does the local ledger read my save or trade route?

No. It only calculates quantities you type in the browser. The game's Statistics screen and Storage tab are the authoritative observations.

Can I use a combined-island stock value to diagnose one island's factory?

Not by itself. Select the island scope relevant to the building; use combined totals only to answer an empire-wide question, and account for movement between islands.

Did 3.0 increase consumption in my existing save?

Ubisoft's notes say the higher-consumption balance affects new saves only, while the difficulty setting can be changed. Verify the exact save and its current setting.
