Verify the documented prerequisite without risking your save
The update deliberately sets the entry point before the true ending. A missing option is therefore a prompt to check the stated quest and current build, not to erase or overwrite the existing campaign.
- Record platform/store and the version shown by your game or launcher; the Ubisoft note lists multiple platforms but does not prove identical rollout timing for every installation.
- Open the quest log and verify Holy Day in Hamtunscire is marked complete. Ubisoft identifies it as the last quest of that region and the NG+ prerequisite.
- If it is incomplete, continue the existing save to that quest; do not start over just to search for the menu option.
- If complete, return to the title/menu after confirming the 1.8.0 update is installed and look for the New Game+ option described by Ubisoft.
- Before selecting a new run, preserve your existing save using the platform's supported method. This guide does not verify whether a particular profile has a cloud backup.
- If the option remains absent, record the platform, build, quest completion state and exact menu path, then compare with Ubisoft's current patch notes/support.
| Your state | Next step | Avoid assuming |
|---|---|---|
| Holy Day incomplete | Continue the current Hamtunscire questline | The true ending is the prerequisite |
| Holy Day complete, older build | Update through your platform's normal channel | Every platform has the same rollout moment |
| Holy Day complete, update installed | Reopen menu and record option state | A missing option means the save is lost |
| Ready to begin NG+ | Preserve the current campaign first | NG+ overwrites or retains a particular slot without checking the live prompt |

The local checklist keeps progress evidence together and does not read Ubisoft Connect or post to a forum.
- Include platform, build, Holy Day completion state and the menu where you looked.
- State whether the campaign save still opens normally.
- Link Ubisoft's 1.8.0 announcement and avoid publishing account IDs or save files.

Frequently asked questions
Must I finish the true ending first?
Ubisoft says New Game+ becomes available after Holy Day, the last Hamtunscire quest, before the true ending.
Does this prove my save is backed up?
No. Check your own platform's save and cloud status before starting anything new.
Why might I not see the option yet?
Compare Holy Day completion and the installed 1.8.0 build first; platform rollout and menu states can differ.
