Trace where confidence or access is lost

Diagnosis and treatment are different stages. A patient can be waiting because a room is full, because the diagnosis needs another step, or because the next room/staff member is unavailable.

  1. Select a patient with repeated diagnosis visits or a low certainty indicator.
  2. Record the diagnosis rooms visited and the next destination shown by the UI.
  3. Inspect each relevant room's operational status and assigned staff qualification.
  4. Check whether the required qualification is already unlocked or whether research/training is still needed.

Choose whether to train, unlock or add capacity

SEGA's guide mentions training, R&D unlocks and diagnosis confidence. The correct response depends on what is actually absent in your level—not an assumed universal percentage.

Current evidenceCandidate actionWhy a room alone may fail
Room closed or unstaffedAssign qualified staff and confirm it operatesA duplicate can also remain unstaffed
Staff lacks named qualificationTrain an eligible employee or use a qualified hireCapacity does not add the missing skill
Room not unlocked/availableCheck current scenario objectives and R&D stateConstruction may be impossible or premature
Room open with a persistent queueCompare arrivals, route and nearby room availabilityOne room may be a real capacity bottleneck—but verify first

Preserve a before/after note

The worksheet is deliberately observational: it cannot read patient logs or determine the cure probability. Record only visible UI state, then compare one staffing, unlock or capacity change.

  1. Write down scenario, patient symptom/diagnosis stage, room name and qualification shown.
  2. Make one safe change and let the same hospital run for a comparable interval.
  3. Check whether the next patients reach treatment with fewer extra diagnosis steps or the original queue shrinks.
  4. Share only anonymized scenario and room/qualification details if asking other players; use SEGA support for technical issues.

Before you play

  • Diagnosis stage distinguished from treatment stage.

  • No cure-rate claim presented as a tested result.

Frequently asked questions

Does more diagnosis certainty guarantee a cure?

No. SEGA says diagnosis confidence affects cure probability, but this page does not promise outcomes or calculate a rate.

Should I build every diagnosis room early?

Not automatically. Check level unlocks, room demand and staff qualifications first.

Can I use this for every DLC scenario?

Use the diagnostic categories, but confirm the exact objective and available rooms in the specific level/DLC.

Sources & revision notes

Editorial revision: November 7, 2026; not a gameplay test date. The reference notes identify source limits and version differences.

  1. SEGA Support: Two Point Hospital hints and advanced gameplay (Official)

SEGA's guide recommends checking distinct queues (including reception and GP), diagnosis confidence, room availability, staff qualifications, patient needs and walking routes. The article is general advice, not an exact wait-time formula or current balance table. Confirm labels in the installed version; no hospital was tested.

  2. SEGA Support: Two Point Hospital getting started (Official)

SEGA explains the county map, objectives and starting tutorial, and documents basic PC controls. Controls may differ by platform and input method. Use the guide for orientation, not as a guarantee that every scenario unlocks the same rooms.

  3. Two Point Hospital player discussions (Community)

External user-generated discussion, not medical advice, official support or a tested solution. Include level/scenario, objective, platform, room/staff state and which queue or patient status you observed; avoid account identifiers.
