Pre-queue privacy check
Red Barrels documents Invasion as a separate privacy choice from Group Privacy. These instructions concern the October 2025 announced system; check the current build because menu wording and availability may change.
- If you are below Therapy Level 30, do not expect Global Invasion: the developer notes say the feature unlocks at level 30.
- At level 30 or above, open Privacy Options from the Terminal or Pause menu and inspect both Trial/Invasion privacy and Group Privacy; do not treat one toggle as controlling the other.
- Choose whether your Trials can be invaded by anyone and whether friends may invade directly, based on the current options shown. The 2025 notes say the setting is disabled unless a player enables it.
- If you plan to play Invasion with friends, form the intended group through Group Finder before queuing; developer notes say Invasion matchmaking uses the current group.
- After changing settings, verify the visible state in-client. Enabling the option makes invasions possible, not guaranteed.

Decision table
Use this to separate party access from PvP invasion consent before matchmaking.
| Your goal | Setting/action to check | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| No player Imposters in regular Trials | Disable Global Invasion in Privacy Options | The documented setting applies at Therapy Level 30+; confirm current UI |
| Allow a friend to invade directly | Enable friend Invasion in Trial privacy | Requires level 30 and the friend privacy option; does not guarantee a match |
| Control who joins your co-op group | Review Group Privacy separately | Group access and Trial invasion are distinct settings |
| Queue for Invasion with a set party | Assemble the party via Group Finder first | Matchmaking uses the current group; current mode availability may differ |

Discussion and version limits
If someone reports being invaded unexpectedly, first check their Therapy Level, Trial privacy, Group Privacy, and whether they queued for a regular Trial or Invasion. Reddit threads are user-generated and may refer to a different build; use Red Barrels' dated announcement for the documented rules and the current client for today's controls.

Before you play
- Record the current build and distinguish Group Finder settings from Invasion settings.
- Re-check privacy after joining a new group or Trial; do not assume the previous selection carried over.
- Use developer notes for current-version limits and label player discussions as unverified context.
Frequently asked questions
Does this checker read my group or account?
No. It only helps you interpret the selections you make; it cannot see a Trial, friend list, account, or current game settings.
Are Reddit posts official instructions?
No. They are player-generated reports. Red Barrels' current patch notes and the live client take precedence.
