Trace a single delivery request
Haemimont's developer journal explains that Delivery Drones take over hauling tasks, need maintenance, and cannot transport while broken. The free update announcement says they move loose resources/items to a storage destination and return to their associated command station when there is nothing to haul. These facts support a trace checklist, not a universal distance or throughput claim.
- Choose one resource stack and one destination; record whether the stack is loose, stored, reserved for a task or already being carried.
- Select the relevant drone/command station and read its current status, maintenance condition and power supply in the game's UI.
- Confirm that the drone is actually associated with the command station you are checking. Inspect the station and any displayed drone assignment rather than assuming a nearby drone belongs to it.
- Check whether the destination accepts the resource and still has storage capacity. If the destination is a construction/production task, inspect its requested material and remaining amount.
- Watch one pickup-to-drop-off cycle without changing several settings at once. Record whether failure occurs before pickup, in transit or at delivery.
- If the drone is idle, check whether an eligible loose resource exists in its working area; the official announcement says it returns to the command station when there is nothing to transport.
- Only after confirming power, assignment, maintenance, cargo eligibility and destination should you rebuild or report a suspected bug.
| Observation | Next check | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Drone stays at station | Eligible loose cargo in range; associated station power | Idle means broken |
| Drone stops hauling | Maintenance/status and power in the UI | A free drone ignores maintenance |
| Pickup occurs but no delivery | Destination accepts item and has room/request | The game has a universal haul radius or throughput |
| Different drone is moving cargo | Association and visible task/status | Every drone serves every station |

Turn observations into a useful community question
Steam Discussions are external, user-generated posts. A compact, version-labelled report helps other players compare like with like, but it does not turn an anecdote into a verified rule.
- Record scenario, platform, displayed build and whether the behavior changed after an update.
- Name the resource, command station, drone status, power/maintenance status and destination capacity as shown in the UI.
- Describe the last successful step and the first step that failed; include only one test change at a time.
- Use the local report builder below to organize these notes, then review and redact them yourself before optionally posting externally.

Before you play
- I traced one resource and destination rather than the whole base.
- I checked station association, power and maintenance in the UI.
- I confirmed loose cargo and destination eligibility/capacity.
- I matched behavior to the PC/Steam build and scenario.
- I understand the issue form does not inspect or post to my colony.
