Separate local saves from web play data
Capcom says Village play data is sent to RESIDENT EVIL.NET when specific in-game events occur, including manual saves and leaving menus. The FAQ also identifies account mismatch, disabled Play Data Settings and incomplete transmission as possible reasons for a discrepancy.
| What you see | Capcom-documented check | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Website shows older totals | Compare received-data timestamp and linked account | Could be delayed or not received; not proof local save was lost |
| Game account differs from RE NET account | Verify the linked account privately | Web profile may be showing a different identity |
| Play Data setting is off | Main Menu → Options → RE NET | Enable only if you want the game to send play data |
| Upload ended abnormally | Return to game online and check later data receipt | Capcom warns website and local save values can differ |

Check sync without risking your local progress
This workflow changes only the optional transmission setting if you choose. Do not delete local saves or unlink accounts to fix a web dashboard mismatch.
- Record the RE NET profile currently open and the in-game account/profile used to play.
- Check the received-data timestamp on RE NET before comparing totals.
- On the game's Main Menu, open Options → RE NET and confirm Play Data Settings is On if you want uploads.
- Return online and perform a normal in-game save/menu exit, then allow transmission time before checking the website again.
- Compare the same statistic and period rather than totals from different profiles or sessions.
- If the account link is wrong or sync remains abnormal, use Capcom's current support route; do not share account credentials publicly.

Frequently asked questions
Does stale RE NET data mean my local save is missing?
No. Capcom says website data may differ because of transmission timing/settings; check the local game separately.
Where is Play Data Settings?
Capcom lists Main Menu → Options → RE NET for the Village setting.
Does this tool sign into RE NET?
No. It only organizes notes entered in this browser and cannot inspect the account or send data.
