Read the crop and season together
Herbs are not ordinary crops with a guaranteed year-round harvest. The developer's Update #29 describes them as a distinct harvestable type with specific seasons and a Farm Level 60 unlock; Update #35 later extended herb harvest availability to a minimum of two seasons after players found the window confusing. The useful check is the exact herb and season shown by your installed game, not a generic calendar copied from another player's farm.
- Confirm the displayed farm level is at least 60 and the herb category is unlocked. If not, use the Farm Academy/shop UI rather than troubleshooting a missing harvest animation.
- Open the selected herb's item or sign details and record its listed harvest seasons. Do not infer the window from a visually similar tree, flower, or event crop.
- Compare the current season with that displayed window. If it is outside the window, an unlit sign or no harvest may be expected; check whether Force Replant is enabled before changing the sign.
- If the herb should be in season, inspect whether it is planted on valid plowed terrain and whether the sign or farmhand assignment actually covers that tile. Update #35 added plowed terrain as an automatic-mode option, but the setting still needs to match your workflow.
- Wait through the next displayed eligible season and record the result before uprooting the patch. Update #35's two-season minimum is not a promise of continuous harvest or a specific quantity.
- If the panel conflicts with the announcement, record platform, build, herb name and the exact in-game season display, then check the latest developer notes before posting.
| What you see | First check | What not to assume |
|---|---|---|
| Herbs not unlocked | Farm Level and herb category visibility | That a missing seed is a bug |
| No harvest this season | Crop's listed seasonal window | That all herbs share one calendar |
| Sign goes dark after planting | Season and Force Replant setting | That the herb patch is dead |
| No output in an eligible window | Plowed tile, sign/assignment and current build | That the two-season minimum means year-round output |

Use the local season log as a comparison, not a crop database
The worksheet below stores only what you enter during this page view. It does not know the herb's current season, read your farm, or calculate yield; its purpose is to compare a named patch with your own season-panel observation.
- Enter the herb and platform/build shown by your game.
- Record the currently displayed season and the seasons the item panel lists.
- Keep the note if you compare the same patch next season; do not treat an empty field as a prediction.

Before you play
- I checked that the herb category is unlocked at my farm level.
- I compared this herb's own season tooltip with the current season.
- I checked Force Replant and the planting tile before removing anything.
- I treated the two-season minimum as a lower bound, not an all-season guarantee.
Frequently asked questions
Does Update #35 mean herbs can be harvested all year?
No. The developer said at least two seasons; Update #29 still describes specific herb harvest seasons. Follow the exact crop panel in your current build.
Should I delete an herb patch when it is not producing?
First compare its displayed harvest window and sign settings. An off-season patch can be expected; the sources do not support a universal deletion rule.
Can this worksheet tell me when an herb is in season?
No. It is a browser-local note card and does not contain a verified crop calendar or connect to your farm.
