Dragon's Dogma 2 save and Pawn symptom check

Choose what you observed to see the relevant Capcom-documented distinction. Your selections remain only in this page session: this tool does not access your game, save, account, Pawn, network, or cloud storage.

Save question

Last Inn Rest refers to the last rest at an inn or dwelling. If you need to create a manual save, use Pause Menu → System → Save when not in an enemy battle.

Pawn question

A dash alone is not proof of a connection failure. Capcom says a borrower who sets Main Pawn Online Access to No One can appear as a dash; compare whether the profile/detail controls are unavailable too.

These are source-based checks, not a diagnosis of an individual save, network, or account. Do not try to bypass another player's privacy settings or enter account credentials here.

Pick the save action that matches your situation

The menu options do different jobs. A campsite may be useful in play, but Capcom explicitly excludes camping from the Last Inn Rest load point. Do not treat those labels as interchangeable.

A safe sequence when the result is uncertain

These steps organize Capcom's documented behavior; they do not promise that a particular lost progress state can be recovered.

  1. If an enemy is actively in battle, leave combat before trying a manual save; Capcom says saving is unavailable during an enemy battle.
  2. Open Pause Menu → System → Save when the scene permits, and read the in-game confirmation rather than assuming a button press completed the save.
  3. If you are about to exit, watch the upper-right save icon. Do not turn off the console or exit while it is displayed.
  4. Before selecting Load from Last Inn Rest, distinguish the last inn/dwelling rest from a campsite. A campsite is not included in this recovery label.
  5. If you are unsure which save state loaded or encounter a platform/cloud conflict, stop before overwriting another copy and consult platform-specific support. The cited FAQ does not explain every cloud-save conflict.

Don't infer a missing save from a campsite alone

If you camped after the last inn rest, the Last Inn Rest option can still refer to an earlier inn/dwelling point. That is the behavior Capcom describes—not evidence by itself that your campsite or save file is corrupted. Record the last known inn rest and the exact load option before reporting an issue.

Scope and player reports

The linked Capcom FAQ covers all platforms, but platform cloud-save interfaces can have their own rules. Steam Discussions may help compare symptoms; match platform and game update and treat replies as unverified. Do not post account credentials, recovery codes, or private save files.

Before you play

  • I am not in an enemy battle before using manual Save.
  • I used Pause Menu → System → Save and waited for the save icon to finish before exiting.
  • I distinguished the last inn/dwelling rest from a campsite before choosing Last Inn Rest.
  • I have not treated an autosave trigger as a guarantee of cloud backup or recovery.

Frequently asked questions

Does resting at a campsite set Last Inn Rest?

No. Capcom says Last Inn Rest means the last rest at an inn or dwelling and explicitly excludes camping.

Can I save during a battle?

Capcom says you cannot save while in a battle with an enemy. Leave that state before trying the manual save option.

When does Dragon's Dogma 2 autosave?

The cited FAQ names entering a new area and resting at an inn. It does not claim every action creates an autosave.

Can this checklist recover my overwritten save?

No. It explains the documented save labels and behavior but does not inspect or restore a save or cloud backup.
