Identify the signal before changing settings
EA's accessibility material distinguishes the on-screen objective tracker from objective markers that pulse or remain visible, navigation waypoints leading to a quest objective, and glint highlights for interactable objects. A community thread also describes confusion between a quest-description tracker and a destination marker; that report is useful for terminology, not proof that every player's UI shares the same defect.
| What is missing? | Setting family to inspect | Do not confuse with |
|---|---|---|
| Quest text under the mini-map | Objective Tracker HUD visibility | The destination diamond/marker |
| Destination indicator | Objective Marker Visibility and Waypoint Visibility | Interactable object glint |
| Loot/interactable highlight | Object Glint Visibility and Distance | Quest route or map waypoint |
| Still unsure where to go | World/Local Map, Codex and current objective text | A guaranteed route auto-fix |

Change one category at a time
- Pause and note the current quest/objective; open the in-game Settings menu and identify whether the missing cue is text, destination marker, waypoint or interactable glint.
- Adjust only the corresponding setting family from EA's published list: tracker HUD, objective marker, waypoint, or object glint/distance.
- Return to gameplay and check the same objective or nearby interactable. If the cue behaves differently than expected, verify any duplicate UI/gameplay setting on the installed build before calling it a bug.
- Use the world/local map or the Library's Codex and Glossary as independent navigation/reference tools; they are not the same as a marker toggle.
- If still reproducible, record platform, displayed build, exact menu category and quest location. Compare EA's support page and clearly label any forum post as an unverified player report.

Scope
This guide translates official setting categories into a diagnostic sequence. It does not reproduce a live game session, know your current objective, or claim a specific setting has a current bug. Check patch notes and the platform's menu before applying an older report.

Before you play
- I distinguished tracker text, destination marker, waypoint and object glint.
- I changed the matching setting category instead of toggling unrelated UI options.
- I used the map/library as a separate reference.
- I recorded platform and build before reporting a repeatable issue.
Frequently asked questions
Does hiding the objective tracker also hide the waypoint?
EA lists the tracker, objective marker and waypoint as separate visibility controls; check the specific category you intend to change.
Is a forum workaround verified by GamerWin?
No. Community posts are player-generated and may describe a specific build/menu state; compare with EA's official settings list.
