Record the code before trying fixes
Write the complete error text and numeric code exactly as shown. Fatshark groups several connection/backend failures in one support article; the number narrows the branch but does not by itself prove a local network fault. Compare a single-player problem with a whole-party/session problem before changing settings.
| Evidence | Record | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Client | Platform, storefront and displayed build | Support steps can be PC-specific |
| Failure | Full code/text and when it appears | A lobby join error differs from a mid-mission disconnect |
| Scope | Solo, host, one guest, or all players | Helps separate a local route from broad service degradation |
| Recent change | Patch, VPN, firewall, router or driver change | Test the newest reversible difference first |

Use an outage-first and least-risk sequence
- Check Fatshark's current service notice and the official support article before adjusting your network; a server-side issue is not repairable from your PC.
- Restart the game and platform client once, then confirm all party members are on the same current build.
- Follow the current article's code-specific steps in order; change only one setting at a time and note whether the code changes.
- If the error appears only on one machine, continue with the supported platform-specific checks. Do not disable security software wholesale or expose remote-administration ports.
- If it persists, use official support with the exact code, platform/build, time, and already-tried reversible steps. Redact account names and network addresses.

Interpret community reports carefully
Steam Discussions can show whether other players report a similar symptom, but posts may refer to another patch, region, platform, or mod setup. Treat a matching post as a clue to compare—not proof of a live outage or a supported fix. Never share a public crash dump containing personal file paths or identifiers.

Before you play
- Record the platform, installed build, exact symptom, and last change before troubleshooting.
- Prefer reversible checks and the current official source over an old forum answer.
- Keep personal identifiers, authentication codes, and private save data out of public discussions.
Frequently asked questions
Does this guide test my game or account?
No. It converts cited publisher/developer instructions into a checklist; it cannot inspect a device, account, save, lobby, or server.
Are community posts confirmed fixes?
No. They are player-generated context. Verify a proposed change against current official support and your own game build.
