Separate platform sign-in from the progression account
A console or PC storefront identity and an Activision account serve different roles. Activision's BO7 registration page says online play requires an Activision account and progression is stored there. The linked platform profile's association matters; signing into a new Activision account is not a migration.
| Situation | Safe interpretation | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Same platform profile, same Activision account | This matches the documented continuation path | Confirm the displayed Activision ID and online account |
| Platform profile now linked to another Activision account | Activision says progression does not carry over to the other account | Stop changing links; use official account support |
| Progress appears absent after platform switch | Cross-progression depends on the existing Activision account and supported linked platform | Verify the original account before launching link changes |

Record before contacting support
- Write down the platform/storefront profile and the Activision ID shown in the BO7 account screen.
- Check the account-link page while signed into the account you believe owns the progress; compare identifiers without sharing passwords or verification codes.
- Do not unlink the platform profile to test another account. Activision's documentation warns that a different linked Activision account will not inherit the earlier progress.
- Use Activision's official account help if the platform is attached to an unexpected account or you cannot access the original email.
- In public discussions, redact the Activision ID suffix, email, receipts and recovery links.

What this guide cannot verify
The article cannot see which account is linked, determine whether a sanction or synchronization delay is involved, or restore progression. The crash and connectivity pages are separate from account ownership; do not apply a general install fix to an account-link problem.

Before you play
- I recorded the Activision ID without sharing it publicly.
- I confirmed which platform profile is linked before taking action.
- I did not unlink or attach the profile to another account as a test.
- I am using official account support for ownership disputes.
