Separate discovering locations from earning the full reward
SCS's 1.62 notes explicitly describe two thresholds. With partial map ownership, the board can show and uncover available points in owned states. Full postcard completion requires all covered map expansions and visiting every associated exploration location. The board may remain listed even when DLC is missing.
| Your situation | What SCS says to expect | What to verify in Atlas |
|---|---|---|
| Some but not all covered state DLC owned | Explore locations available in owned states | Which locations are missing and which DLC they map to |
| All covered map expansions owned | Full reward is possible after all associated locations are visited | Every board location shows visited/completed |
| Board appears in the all-boards list | Its presence alone does not confirm eligibility | Open the board and read any missing-DLC popup/list |
| Postcard is still locked | May mean a required expansion or location remains | Do not infer an account bug until both requirements are checked |
Build a manual ownership-and-route checklist
The official route spans eight states. Record your own DLC ownership and mark the board's current location list from the game; this planning note does not access Steam purchases or navigate the truck.
- Confirm the installed client reports version 1.62 or later in the platform UI; the release article dates full PC/Steam release to November 3, 2026.
- Open Atlas and select the Route 66 Cross-Border Tourist Board.
- Copy the exact missing-state/DLC and unvisited-location labels shown by your current game.
- Mark the eight-state scope: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
- Plan reachable locations in owned states first if you are not pursuing the full postcard yet.
- Before spending on an expansion, recheck the current Steam DLC list and in-game missing-DLC prompt; GamerWin cannot verify ownership.

Avoid obsolete completion advice
This feature was introduced by update 1.62. Earlier posts may not contain the Cross-Border Tourist Board or may describe the October public beta rather than the November 3 release. Community maps are useful pointers, but the installed Atlas list is the best check for your own location state.
- If a post predates 1.62, treat it as historical context rather than proof the board is absent.
- If an owned location remains unavailable, record the state, DLC label, build and exact Atlas message before reporting it.
- Compare the current SCS announcement feed and patch notes before changing profile files or reinstalling content.
- Use Steam discussions for player comparison only; do not post receipts, account IDs or private profile files.
